RESOLUTION
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ASSOCIATION OF
WHOLESALE CUSTOMERS' SPECIAL PROJECT ON
GENERATING CAPACITY NEEDS
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is a member of the Association of Wholesale
Customers; and
WHEREAS, the Association resolved on April 22, 1981 to approve a Special Project
to study LCRA'S projected generating capacity needs, to determine possible ways to reduce
the costs of such additional capacity and to intervene in the proceedings on this subject
and to retain the consulting firm of C. H. Guernsey and Company and the law firm of
Vinson & Elkins for the Special Project; and
WHEREAS, the Association further resolved on August 24, 1981 to retain Becon
Construction Company, Inc. to evaluate alternative lignite fueled electrical power
generation sites from the standpoint of projected fuel costs comparisons as a part of the
Special Project and to allocate its share of the costs of the Special Project; and
WHEREAS, the rate impact on the Wholesale Customers of a new generating plant
is greater than the rate impact of any LCRA rate case;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Georgetown will participate
in this Special Project of the Association of Wholesale Customers; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Georgetown will pay its proportionate
share of the cost of the Special Project.
