ORDINANCE NO. 82-4
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN AND SPECIFICALLY AMENDING SECTION 14.206, PROVIDING
FOR THE NECESSITY OF A 3/4 MAJORITY VOTE OF THE COUNCIL IN
CERTAIN INSTANCES FOR THE AMENDMENT, SUPPLEMENT, OR CHANGE
OF ANY ZONING REGULATION, RESTRICTION OR BOUNDARY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
Section 14.206 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Georgetown,
Williamson County, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:
''After receipt by the City Council of the recommendations of the
City Planning and Zoning Commission, the City Council shall at either
a regular or special meeting, act upon the proposed changes, amendments
or Special Permits. Except as hereinafter provided, a majority vote
of the City Council shall be required for passage of a proposed change,
amendment or Special Permit. In case however of a written protest against
such change signed by the owners of twenty percent (20%) or more eihter
of the area of the lots or land included in such proposed change or of
the lots or land immediately adjoining the same and extending two hundred
(200) feet therefrom, or when the Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended to the Council that such proposed amendment, supplement,
or change be denied, such amendment shall not become effective except
by the favorable vote of three-fourths (3/4) of all members of the City
Council."
READ, PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council on the first reading
at the meeting of the Council on the 9th day of February, 1982.
READ, PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council on second and final
reading at a meeting of the Council held on the 9th day of March, 1982.
