SECTION 3. AUTHORITY TO DISCONNECT SERVICE.
The City shall retain the right to disconnect water or
wastewater service under the following circumstances:
A. When a person, establishment or owner discharges waste or
wastewater that is in violation of the industrial waste ordinance
or approvals obtained in accordance with the ordinance.
B. When a person, establishment, or owner fails to make
payments due in accordance with the user charges set forth in the
Sewer User Charge Ordinance.
C. At such other times as provided by law or when necessary
to protect said City or its inhabitants.
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
For the preservation of order, health, and general welfare,
an emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall take
effect and be in force from and after its passage.
READ, PASSED and APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, Texas, on first reading as an emergency this 14th day
of December, 1982, for the reason that the passage of this
ordinance may prevent the discharge of toxins which might
endanger the health of the citizens of Georgetown and because the
passage of this ordinance is necessary to preserve the health,
safety and welfare of the citizens of Georgetown.
