HomeMy WebLinkAbout0473_468468 ORDINANCE 83-11 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE OF MAY 10, 1977, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 4.03, 7.d.; 4.04, 2.c.; AND 5.07, 3. , ESTABLISHING THE METHOD FOR CALCULATION OF T H E 100 YEAR FLOOD PLAIN, REQUIRING SAID FLOOD PLAIN TO BE SHOWN ON SUBDIVISION PLATS, AND PROVIDING THE METHOD FOR CALCULATING RAINFALL RUNOFF, AND DESIGN OF CHANNELS, CULVERTS, STORM SEWERS AND DETENTION FACILITIES. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown enacted an ordinance regulating subdivision and resubdivision of land for the purpose of development within the City limits and its extraterritorial jurisdiction on May 10, 1977; and WHEREAS, certain provisions of said ordinance have been amended since said date; and WHEREAS, the enactment and passage of this ordinance is imperative for the orderly and timely development of land under the jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN that the following sections of the subdivision ordinance of the City of Georgetown are amended to read as follows: Section 4.03, 7.d. "The one hundred year flood plain, based on fully developed conditions within the watershed area, shall be calculated in accordance with the 100 year design flood as calculated in accordance with the City of Austin Drainage Criteria Manual and shall be shown or. the plat and certified by a Registered Professiona. Engineer. Supporting information to verify the location of said flood plain shall also be furnished." Section 4.04, 2.c. "The one hundred .year flood plain, based on fully developed conditions within the watershed area, shale be calculated in accordance with the 100 year design flood as calculated in accordance with the City of Austin Drainage Criteria Manual and tshall be shown on the plat and certified t:y a Registered Professiona Engineer." Section 5.07, 3. "Adequate drainage shall be provided within the limits of the subdivisions. The protection of adjoining property from any increase in runoff is mandatory and shall be considered in the review of the drainage and storm sewer plans. Drainage and storm sewer plans shall be certified by a Registered Professional Engineer and approved by the City Engineer. City of Austin Drainage Criteria Manual will be used for all calculations relative to rainfall runoff quantities, and the design of channels, culverts, storm sewers and detention facilities.
