TOWN, TEXAS, FOR THE SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PUBLIC FREE SCHOOLS IN

SAID CITY, SHALL BE INCREASED FROM TWENTY-FIVE TO FORTY CENTS ON THE ONE
HUNDRED DOLLARS VALUATIOW OF THE PROPERTY SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN SAID CITY.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: -
That it is hereby ordered that an election be held in said City
on the 12th day of March, 19060 to determine Whether or not the special
school tax now levied and collected in the City of Georgetown.. Texas, for
the support and maintenance of the public free schools in said City, shall
be increased from twenty-five to forty cents on the one hundred dollars
valuation of the property subject to taxation in said City; that said
election be held at the County Court House in said City; that said election
shall be held under the provisions of Chapter 124 of the General Laws of
the State of Texas passed by the Twenty Ninth Legislature at its regular
session; that only qualified property tax paying voters in the said City
shall be entitled to vote in said elections that each voter favoring such
increase of said school tax shall have written or printed on his ballot,
"For increase of school tax," and those opposing such increase shall have
written or printed on their ballots, "Against increase of school tax,"
and if two-thirds of the votes Gast be in favor of increasing said tax,
it shall be increased; that said election shall be held in accordance
with the provisions of the election laws of the State of Texas; and that
Re D. Byrom and R. A. Montgomery be, and they are hereby. appointed
judges of said election, and the said R. D. Byrom is hereby designated
as presiding judge at said election.
The Mayor of said City is hereby directed to give notice
of said election by posting up at the door of the place adhere said
