CITY COUNCIL.
BH IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of George-
town, Texas that:
Section l.' The City Council shall be the judge of the
election and qualification of its own members, and shall deter-
mine the rules of its proceedings, and keep a correct journal
thereof which shall be open to the inspection and examination
of any citizen.
Section 2. Meetings of the City Council shall at all
times be open to the public, except when in executive session.
Stated meetings shall be -held in the City Hall on the Second
Monday in each month at such hour as the Council may by reso-
lution prescribe. Special meetings may be called at any time by
the Mayor of his own volition, or on the application of three aldermen
by notice specifying the time and oirjeot of such meeting to
each alderman, the Secretary and City Attorney, served person-
ally, or left at their usual place of abode or business.
Section 3. Three aldermen shall constitute a quorum for
the transaction of business.
Section 4. At each meeting the Mayor, or in his absence
the Mayor pro tem, or in the absence of both, then some alder-
man shall be elected to preside, shall at the hour of meeting
take the chair and call the meeting to order. The Secretary
shall then call the roll of members, and if there be a quorum
present, the Council shall proceed with the business before it.

Section 5. The following order of business shall be ob-
1. Reading, correcting and approving the minutes of the
preceding meeting.
2. Presentation of petitions, remonstrances and other
communications.
3. Reports of officers.
4. Reports of standing oommittees.
5. Reports of special committees.
