main or3kteral pipe running along such street or alley to the
property line to connect with the pipe inside of such premises.
Such connection shall be made Within a reasonable time after the
tender as aforesaid shall have been made. The maximum price for
making suchconnection shall be $2.50 for taping main, and the
reasonable value of the labor and material necessary to make
such connection, to the centre of the street or alley where main
is laid.
Section 8. The said John R. Allen and L. Marshall, their
associates, successors and assigns, shall extend their main or
lateral swere pipes along and through such streets and alleys as
the City Council may from time to time designate when ordered
to do so by such Council, provided that before making such ex-
tension they have applications for connections from enough patrons
on such street and alley, or such streets and alleys, to pay
them a revenue of 8% on the actual cost of such extension, and if
the carrying capacity of any lateral is too small to acoommadate
the service on same at any time then the City Council may, re-
quire same replaced by an Sight (8) inch lateral.
Section 9. The construction of said sewerage system shall
commence within Two months from the passage of this ordinance, and
shall be completed and extended to all potions of the City where
they might be compelled to extend under the provisions of Section
hereof, within eight months from the passage of this ordinance,
provided, however, that if the completion of said work is prevented
or delayed by floods, Aots of God or public enemy, or by legal
proceedings for the maintenance or defense of their legal rights,
or in the acquisition of property or right of wag or by reason
of any other cause whatsoever beyond their,,control, such time
shall form no part of the time specified in this ordinance for
the performance of any act required by the terms of this section
to be done by them.
Section 10. The said John R. Allen and L. Marshall, their
associates, successors and assigns, shall at all time keep said
sewerage system well flushed and in a clean and sanitary condition,
and upon their failure to do so from any cause shall be liable
to prosecution for allowing or maintaining a nuisance and shall
be liable for anyinjury or damage resulting from such failure.
