PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS
5-2U, 5-22 (0), 5-27(1),(2),(3) AND (4) OF SAID
CODE; PROVIDING THAT NUETERLD BE DEFINED: IHRLE
MONTH OLD DOGS BE VACCINATED: IMPOUNDMENT FEE OF
$3.00 PER DAY: STATING CONDITIONS OF REDEMPTION
WHEN ANIMALS ARE IMPOUNDED AND SETTING ADOPTION
FEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1. That Section 5-20 (Definition of Nuetered) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be amended so that such section
shall read as follows:
Section 5-20. Definitions
Nuetered: Rendered permanently incapable of reproduction.
Section 2. That Section 5-22(d). (License Required) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be amended so that such a Section
shall read as follows:
(d) The yearly license fee shall be two dollars ($2.00) for each neetered
male or female over the age of three months or five dollars ($5.00) for each
unnuetered male or female over the age of three months.
Section 3. That Section 5-22 (g). (Revocation of Permits and Licenses)
shall be added to the Lode of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and
such section shall read as follows:
(g) The City of Georgetown, Texas, may revoke any permit or license if
the person holding the permit or license refuses or fails to comply with this
ordinance, the regulations promulqated bV the City of Georgetown, Texas, or
any other law governing the protection and keeping of animals.
Section 4 That Section 5-27 (1). (Impounding -Required; conditions of
redemption. of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be
amended so that such section shall read as follows:
(1)a. First Offense. Upon a payment of an impounding fee of the sum of
ten dollars ($10. p us the sum of three dollars ($3.00) for each day or
fractional part thereof which said dog had beem impounded.
b. Second Offense. Upon a payment of an impoundingfee of the sum
of fifteen do ars ($15.00) plus the sum of three dollars $3.00) for each
day or fractional part thereof which said dog had been impounded.
c. More Than Two Offenses. Upon a payment of an impounding fee of
sum of twenty-five ($25.00) plus the sum of three dollars ($3.00) for each
day or fractional part thereof which said dog had been impounded.
Section 5. That Section 5-27(4). (Adoption.) shall be added to the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and that such section
shall read as follows:
(4) An adoption fee of Five Dollars ($5.00) plus vaccination fees,
licensing fees, and veterinary costs shall be assessed at the time of adop'.
tion. No dog shallbe released for adoption as a pet without being neutered
or without a written agreement from the adopter guaranteeing that the animal
will be neutered.
Section S. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinances are hereby repealed.
