to the days and hours specified above and require the use of a bucket
and a hose with a positive shut off nozzle.
5. Restrict the filling, refilling, or adding of water to swimming
and /or wading pools to the days and hours specified above.
PHASE III- WATER SHORTAGE - MANDATORY COMPLIANCE
The indicator of this stage will be that the water level in
observation Well X11 falls to a depth of 120 feet below the top of
the casing for two consecutive days. At this time all the steps
of Phases I and II will be carried out plus the following.
1. Formal notification by the Mayor,City Manager, and Director
of Public Works of a water shortage.
2. Prohibit all outdoor washing including but not limited to car
washing , pavement washing, window washing.
3. Prohibit all lawn and garden irrigation except during the
hours of 6.00 A.M. to 10 00 A.M. and 6 00 P.M. and 10.00 P. M.
using a single hand held hose for application.
4. Prohibit the filling, refilling, or adding of Water to swimming
and /or wading pools.
5. Prohibit the use of ornamental fountains and waterfalls.
PHASE IV- WATER EMERGENCY
The indicator of this stage will be any of the following
1. Loss of electrical power for a period of more than two hours.
2. Mechanical failure in the system.
3. Inability to maintain safe water levels in storage tanks.
4. Water levels in wells fall to a point at which time the well
pump breaks suction, low level lockouts shut down wells or wells
produce unacceptably turbid water.
Phase IV may be instituted without having first entered into
Phases I, II, III.
At this time all steps of Phases I, II, III, will be carried out
plus the following.
1. Formal notification by the Mayor,City Manager, and Director
of Public Works of a water shortage.
2. Prohibit all outside wateruse excepo for the immediate preservation
of the health, safety and welfare .
TERMINATION OF DROUGHT WATER PLAN
The Mayor has the authority to declare the end to any or all the phases
contained in this plan.
DEFINITIONS:
1. Formal Notice - that the Mayor will give notice to the news media
(local newspaper and radio station) and post such notice on city's
bulletin board.
