HomeMy WebLinkAbout0034_0002Resolution Page 3 4 Recommend to the Council ordinances, procedures, and other actions needed to achieve the City's goals for its parks and recreation program, reporting in writing to the Council at least semi-annually by November 1st and May 1st, the latter report to contain the Committee's requests for park and recreational expenditures to be included in the City's next annual hiitlgPt Budgetary recommendations shall be made to Council through the City Manager. C. Organization 1. Membership The Committee shall be composed of eleven (11) resi- dents of the City and its ETJ recommended by the Mayor and approved by the Council. They shall be broadly respresentative of Greater Georgetown in age, sex, race or ethnic group, neighborhood, and type of recreational interest, but also committed to serving the needs of the whole community 2 Terms Members shall serve three-year staggered terms, and may serve no longer than six (6) consecutive years. The first persons appointed shall determine by lot three persons to serve for one year, four persons to serve for two years, and four to serve for three years. 3 Officers The Mayor shall designate, with consent of Council, one of the first appointees to convene the committee and serve as chair until the members elect a chair, vice -chair, and secretary for one- year terms. Each officer shall have the powers and duties described for that office in Roberts Rules of Order; and the secretary shall take and keep minutes summarizing the concerns and actions of the 3'
