The City Council met in regular session on the above date* Mayor
J, T. Atkin presiding, the following members of the Council were
presents Aldermen --J. H. Compton, B. R. Frederieson, Ralph Freund*
A. C. Woodfin, Rennie Wilcox, Jr. Other members --Lee C. B1aek,'.City
manager; H. A. Partain, assistant mamanger; 1, H. Nunn, attorney;
A. P. Pickle, chief of police; M. L. Cateep secretayy.
Minutes of the previous sessions were read* and on motion of Aldo
Compton, seconded by Aldo Freund, were approved.
Manager Black's monthly report* including the reports of 61.1 the
city officials * and the accounts amounting to $735.02 were read on
motion of Aldo Woodfin, seconded by Aldo Freund* were received and filed
and the aeeounets were ordered paid.
A special water committee from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce was
present and the following resolution was presented, and read by Dr.
H. R. Gaddy, Jr.* ehairman.of the committees
"RESOLUTIONS OF THE' TA"R .COMMITTVpE
OF THR 0EORGET0T9 CHAMBRR OF COMMERCE.
"WHEREAS: The Water Committeeof the Georgetown. Chamber of
Commerce adopted a resolution as follows:
"WHEREAS; It is the opinion of this committee
that water is the
greatest asset of a city for
(a) Health* welfare and prosperity
b Continual growth and attraction of industry
NWHEREAS* it is the opinion of this committee that the present
water supply in Georgetown is not adequate* and the present
supply is rapidly being depleted. Fut%jV* rainfall cannot be de-
pended upon to supply our needs.
VMRHA39 it is the opinion of this committee that conservation
must be practiced only until a permanent supply can.be ob-
tained;
"NOW THERRFORN, BB IT RESOLVED; That we recommend that consulting
water, -engineers be employed immediately to advise us on a plan
to supply and abundance of water at all times*and that plans
and recommendations of these engineers be presented to the
citizens of Georgetown in a town meeting."

Visitor, at the invitation of Mayor Atkin* was Mr. William Guyton*
hydrologist* of Austin, who offered the following recommendations
"That there be made a complete geological surveys Have made a
thorough hydrological survey; Have made a surface survey to de-
termine the feasibility of storing water." Mr. Guyton will be
retained to make the hydrological survey when the Geological
survey is completed.
Water Ordinance,
Ordinance Committeeman presented a water ordinance*'of which the
following is the Caption* and moved that the said ordinance be read
in fulls
"An Ordinance regulating the use of city water, making it un-
lawful for irrigation, sprinkling water, except in certain
zones on certain dates* therein* and fixing a penalty for its
violation, and.declaring an emergency;" (See Ordinance in full
on page No. //,/' , in the Regular Ordinance Book.)
Alderman Wilcox seconded the.motion of Aldo Frederieson* which.car-
ried by the following unanimous vote: Ayes --Compton, Fredericson,
Freund, Wilcox* Woodfin. Noes --none.
