RESOLUTION
The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas is impressed
withthe beauty of the campus of Southwestern University, which beauty
has been created by the sprinkler system which Mr. Aeely Landrum has
so generously donated to that institution.
This is not only an asset to Southwestern University, but in addition
to enhancing the beauty of that part of our town upon which Southwestern
University is situated, it is also a great inspiration and encouragement
to other residents of Georgetown, particularly in this time of drouth, to
beautify their own premises.
Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Georgetown, Texas-,,
that the generosity of Mr. Neely Landrum, of Dallas, Texas, is greatly
appreciated as being of great benefit to our city as well as to the
institution to which the donation was made.
Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Miles that resolution be accepted.
Motion carried by unamious vote.
Motion by Evans And%seoonded by Hoyt that proposed water & sewer
Bond issue be 1285,000.00. Motion carried by unamious vote.
AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance repealing all ordinances, or parts of ordinances,
or amendments thereto, that conflict with the terms or conditions of
this ordinance and enacting in -lieu there6f a new ordinance , regulating
plumbing work in the City of Georgetown, Texas; defining certain terms;
providing for certain exemptions; providing for the enforcement of this
ordinance an&,the issuance of permits and establishing certain fees;
providing for speeification, materials And methods of plumbing instal-
lations; providing penalties for violation of this ordinance ; pr+d-
viding a severability clause.
Motion by Evans and seconded by Hoyt that Ordinance be read in
full and roll call was as follows, AYES, Wilcox, Evans, Hoyt, Miles -
NOES- None. Ordinance was read in full.
Platt under, University Terrace for Approval.
Motion by Miles and seconded by Wilcox that the Platt be
accepted and approved for recording. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Manager Black submitted requests from Texas Highway Department
that Speed Limits on Highway J29 and 81 be increased.
Motion by Wilcox and seconded by Hoyt that Speed Limits in City
limits on above highways remain as they are. Motion carried by un-
animous vote.
There being no further business on motion by Miles and seconded by
Hoyt that meeting adjourn.
