The following councilmen and officials were present, William It. lanes, Harry Gold, J. D. Wininger, Hubert ".Brock, City Manager- Leo anager__Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads, City Attorney Joe B. McMaster, Water & Sewer Supt. J. D. Tinning, Bill Buchanan, '1rs. Cook, Richard Mittanck, and Ship Mills. Zoning The Committee consisting of Chairman Hubert Brock, Harold Parker, Ordinance Sam Brady, Elmer Fredrickson, Virgil Carlson, and Leo Wood, which was Ammendment appointed by Mayor Sloan for the purpose of studing a change in the zoning ordinance, gave the following recommendation. That the required 25 feet set -hack on corner lots be changed to 15 feet set -backs on side of corner lots and the fronts to remain at the present 25 feet set -backs. !Notion by Wininger and seconded by Gold that the above recommendation be accepted and approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. City Attorney Joe B. McMaster is to draw up the amendment to the 'Zoning Ordinance. This parcel of land is not in our City limits, but is in the required distance to be con-troled by City Charter. Motion by Brock and seconded by Eanes that the above subdivision be approved and accepted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Iii -Lift Pump The following bids were opened for the Ili -lift PwLip, as advertised. Bids Southwest Purip & Supply Co.$68? , 7.65 Layne Tex Co., of Houston 49314.00 Mayor appointed a committee composed of J. -D. Tinning, Harry Gold, Leo Wood, and J. D. Wininger to examine above bids and report back to the Council at a called council meeting to be held, June 27, 1970. Eugene Motion by Wininger and seconded by Brock that the bill in the amount Hobart hill of $395.93 to Eugene Hobart as final payment on Library and all archi- tect fees be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. W. 11. Mullins Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger that the bill in the amount Bill of $409.73 for final payment for painting of 500,000 gal. water tank be approved and paid to W. 11. Mullins. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Police Mayor Sloan appointed City Manager Wood, Crawford_ and Gold to serve on Station Building..Committee for new proposed Police Station to be constructed with Committee $15,000.00 bond money and $15,000.00 grant from Criminal Judicial Council. Civil Defense The Council authorized Manager Wood to have the civil defense officials to have there meeting in Georgetown and use City personnel to test civil defense equipment in case of any diaster. This meeting is to be held from Sept. 22, 1970 to Oct. 1, 1970: - Mrs. Harris & A letter from Mrs. Jack Barris and Mrs. Judy Shepherd in reference Mrs. Shepherd to traffic problems on Laurel and 15th Streets was read to the Council. Letter The Council authorized Manager Wood to work with Police Chief Masur on this matter. 142 9 Month Budget City Manager Leo Wood presented a nine month budget review to the Council. Mayor Sloan stated that there would be a called meeting of Council June 27, 1970, regular meeting July 6, 1970, and bid opening July 13, 1970.
