A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE DEPARTMENT
OF THE ARMY, FORT WORTH DISTRICT, CORPS OF ENGINEERS,
GEORGETOWN/GRANTER PROJECT OFFICE LOCATED IN WILLIAMSON
COUNTY, TEXAS, AND TO EXECUTE A LEASE OR LICENSE FOR
PUBLIC PARK AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES AND TO UNDERTAKE
THE GOVERNMENTAL AND PROPRIETARY FUNCTIONS AND
OBLIGATIONS,"AT_ THE LOCATION SPECIFIED IN SAID
APPLICATION AND TO SIGN SUCH OTHER DOCUMENTS AND ACT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN IN ACQUIRING FOR USE
CERTAIN CORPS OF ENGINEERS PROPERTY IN WILLIAMSON
COUNTY, TEXAS, FOR A PARK AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has commenced negotations with the United
States Department of the Army, Corps•_ of Engineers to the end of entering into

an agreement whereby said City will lease a certain tract of land from said
governmental agency so that said area may be utilized as a park or recreational
area and specifically so that such area may be used as a site for five (5) soccer,
fields; and
WHEREAS, in order to enter into agreements with said governmental agency it
is necessary that said City designate an official to negotiate a lease; with such
agency without monetary consideration for*land in the Lake Georgetown reservoir
area shown on a Plat marked Exhibit A,and made a part hereof;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GOERGETOWN THAT:
(1) The Mayor of the, City of Georgetown is hereby authorized to cause to be'
prepared the Application for*the lease of said tract in the Lake Georgetown
reservoir area to be used for Park and Recreational purposes, to negotiate the
terms thereof with the U.S. Department of the Army, Corps'of Engineers, and to
undertake the governmental- and proprietary functions andlobligations as may be
therein stipulated, and to enter into such agreements as are necessary to accomplish
such ends.
