HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 11.10.1981 - Texas Aeronautics GrantA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TO EXECUTE A GRANT CONTRACT WITH THE TEXAS AERONAUTICS COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas, is the Owner of the Georgetown Municipal Airport, existing in the Corporate Limits of the relative to development, operation and maintenance of the Georgetown Airport dated the 9th day of February, 1942; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown put in a request for State aid with the Texas Aeronautics Commission on October 15, 1980; and WHEREAS, the Texas Aeronautics Commission in an official meeting on October 22, 1981 voted to allocate $40,000 to provide a maximum of 75% of the total cost to install MIRL on Runway 17/35 of the Georgetown Municipal Airport; and WHEREAS, the Georgetown Municipal Airport Board, in order to more effectively use the Municipal Airport for airport purposes, does recommend that the City of Georgetown enter into a Grant Contract with the State for the construction of MIRL lighting for the General Aviation on the Airport Property. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, having made themselves aware of attached terms and conditions, do believe that it Is in the public interest to enter into said agreement in order to more effectively use the Municipal Airport for Airport purposes; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that the City Manager is authorized to execute said agreement under the terms and conditions contained therein.
