P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the Main Street Baptist Church is involved in many missions and ministers globally and
locally; and
WHEREAS, the Main Street Baptist Church has participated in many Relay for Life events for
cancer survivors and caregivers; and
WHEREAS, the church has given generously to Texas, North America and overseas missions; and
WHEREAS, the church operates the Children’s Center, a day care for preschoolers, and donates
space in the church buildings for several non-profit and volunteer organizations in Georgetown; and
WHEREAS, the church has a Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry and Adults on Missions who
participate in various educational events, sew for hospital patients and newborns, sponsor birthday parties and
other events at the Wesleyan Nursing Home and minister to our military and wounded warriors through
Legacy Outfitters; and
WHEREAS, Main Street Baptist Church has teamed with other churches to repair homes; and
WHEREAS, Main Street Baptist Church stands as a recognizable entity in the Historic District at the
southern entry to the City of Georgetown; and
WHEREAS, Main Street Baptist Church is celebrating their 25th Anniversary
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, do
hereby proclaim Sunday, October 5, 2014 as
MAIN STREET BAPTIST CHURCH DAY
