The mission of the Georgetown Convention and visitors Bureau is to increase the economic impact on
Georgetown by promoting the community as a tourist and meeting destination.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Stephanie Blanck, Rita Healy, Daniel Orozco, Christy Fischer,
Jim Wilson
MEMBERS ABSENT: Rachel Cummins, Karen Soeffker
STAFF PRESENT: Cari Miller, Marie Woodard
GUEST: None
Chair Healy called the meeting to order at 837 a.m.
Legislative Regular Session
1. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the April 15, 2019 and May 28, 2019 minutes —

Motion by Fisher, second by Wilson to approve the April 15, 2019 and May 28, 2019 minutes
Approved 5-0
2. UIL State Soccer Tournament Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant Follow-up Report Presentation — Cari
Miller, Tourism Manager

4. Discussion and possible action to approve a Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement Grant for the
Texas Half Century Senior Softball Tournament — Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
Following a thorough review of the packet and discussion the following motion was made.
Motion by Orozco, second by Wilson to approve the grant for $1,000. In order to receive
future funding, a 2019 event survey must be completed.
Approved 5-0.
5. Discussion and possible action to approve a Transportation Grant for Texas Hospital Insurance
Exchange Conference — Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
After review and thorough discussion, the following motion was made.
Motion by Blanck, second by Orozco to approve the grant application for a maximum
reimbursement of $1015.00
Approved 4-0 (Healy abstained)
6. Discussion and possible action to approve a Transportation Grant for Texas Public Works Annual
Conference — Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
After review and thorough discussion, the following motion was made.
Motion by Orozco, second by Fisher to approve the grant application for a maximum
reimbursement of $1,523.00.
Approved 4-0 (Healy abstained)
7. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of upcoming
events- Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
• Next Meeting July 11, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.
• Music on the Square starts June 14th
• Red Poppy Festival had an estimated attendance of 75,000

Motion by Blanck, second by Wilson to adjourn at 923 a.m.
