MEMBERS PRESENT: Stephanie Blanck, Rachel Cummins, Christy Fisher, Rita Healy, Daniel Orozco, Karen Soeffker, Jim Wilson MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Cari Miller, Marie Woodard GUEST: Florence Gould Chair Healy called the meeting tv order at 88:37 a.T'i'i. Legislative Regular Session 1. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the June 6, 2019 minutes - Rita Healy, CVB Board Chair Motion by Orozco, second by Fisher to approve the June 6, 2019 minutes Approved 5-0 (Soeffker and Cummins arrived after the vote) 2. Georgetown Festival of the Arts Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant Follow-up Report Presentation — Cari Miller, Tourism Manager and Florence Gould, Festival of the Arts Representative Gould reviewed the follow-up report. Gould indicated that the $2,500 grant was used to advertise the event in the Houstonian Magazine. Guest cards were used to collect data and showed numerous guests from the Houston area attended. The Festival planners feel like attendance was excellent this year with about 1,600 attending the different events. No action was taken. 3. Discussion and possible action to approve a Transportation Grant for the Kiwanis Annual Conference - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager and Marie Woodard, Group Sales and Servicing Coordinator Following a thorough review of the packet and discussion the following motion was made. Motion by Blanck, second by Fisher to approve the grant application for a maximum reimbursement of $1,015. Approved 6-0 (Healy abstained) 7/11/19 4. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of upcoming events - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager • Discussion involved working closely with the Downtown Georgetown Association and the Main Street Program to improve communication regarding activities planned/coming to the Georgetown area to make all stores/restaurants aware and therefore welcoming the guests. Miller will contact DGA and invite them to attend the September board meeting. • A date between July 30 - Aug will be set for the presentation of the draft of the Strategic Plan. Miller will send a follow-up email with specifics. A short board meeting may be held at that time as well.
