Trisha Tallman called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. T. Tallman, D. Gaume, K. Curry, K. Hill, and B. Nicholson were in attendance. S. Rodocker entered the meeting at 9:03. A. Adams was absent. No guests in attendance. Staff in attendance, Cari Miller, Tourism Manager and Kim McAuliffe, Downtown Development Manager. Regular Session (This regular session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.) A. Call to order at 9:00 a.m. B. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the December 14, 2018 board meeting minutes — Trisha Tallman, Board Chair Motion by K. Hill to approve the minutes as presented. Second by D. Gaume. Approved: 5-0 C. Update on Tourism & 201h Anniversary of the Red Poppy Festival — Cari Miller, Tourism Manager The festival will feature Dysfunction Junction as the Friday evening entertainment, the Saturday evening headliner will be announced on Monday, February 18 via Visit Georgetown's Facebook page. A new addition to the 2011, Anniversary will be a big screen on the back of the stager so attendees can see the pertormance better. Chet has also been engaged to do an anniversary video and will likely be joined by other Texas stars wishing Poppy a Happy Anniversary. The HOT fund performed well in 2018, there was a 9.2% increase from 2017, a $1.3M record -setting year. This year, the tourism department will be starting a tourism strategic plan, they are currently reviewing RFP's for this project. D. Chair Report T. Tallman talked about scheduling our annual retreat for this year. Tuesday, June 4th was tentatively scheduled and the board is looking to have their retreat in La Grange. E. Project Team, Block Captains for BR&E, & Partner Updates K. Hill and S. Rodocker reported on the fundraising team's items that were sold in 2018. All of the ornaments for 2018 and remaining 2016 were sold this year. Additionally, the new fundraisers for art coasters and art greeting cards were a great addition. Inventory still remains for these items and we will push sales again in the spring. T. Tallman reported on the Swirl, all tickets are sold out and we have set a new record for sponsorships. The 10th Anniversary event is shaping up to be a big success. The gateway signage team has not met yet. A meeting will be set within the next couple of weeks. B. Nicholson and D. Gaume will serve on that project. Page 4 of 12 K. Curry reported on Breakfast Bites. The team set dates and topic ideas for 2019. The first program for the year will be focused on marketing and held on March 20, 2019 at the Library. F. Staff Report Staff reported on new business additions and relocations in downtown. There are a lot of active projects going on at this time and new construction scheduled to break ground this year. Adjourn Motion by S. Rodocker to adjourn the meeting. Second by D. Gaume. T.
