RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN
RELEASING AND ABANDONING THAT WATER, SEWER, AND
DRAINAGE EASEMENT, ACROSS THAT TRACT LOCATED AT THE
SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 4TH AND ASH STREETS, AND KNOWN AS THE
EAST ONE-HALF OF LOT 1 & 2, BLOCK 32 OF THE GLASSCOCK
ADDITION, BEING A PORTION OF THAT EASEMENT GRANTED TO
THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN IN A DOCUMENT RECORDED IN
VOLUME 353, PAGE 451 OF THE OFFICIAL PUBLIC RECORDS OF
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS (THE "EASEMENT").
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown ("City") has received a request from the current
owner of a 0.166 acre tract known as the east one-half of Lots 1 & 2, Block 32, Glasscock Addition,
the property encumbered by the above described Easement. The area of the existing Easement is
not described, and thus it inhibits the use of the property and limits future development.
WHEREAS, upon considering the request for release and abandonment of the subject
Easement and additional information pertaining to the request, the City Council finds that a
public need for the areas sought to be released and abandoned no longer exists and that said
Easement may be released pursuant to City Ordinance No. 2009-47 relating to disposition of City
property; and
WHEREAS, the portion of the easement requested to be released and abandoned shall be
replaced by an easement(s), the area(s) of which is/are described by the metes and bounds with
sketch on Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, nothing herein shall operate to release any other easement, nor any portion
of the Easement not herein described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that the
adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any of the City's 2030
Comprehensive Plan policies.

SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Quitclaim Deed in
substantially the same form attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and any other conveyance
document(s) necessary to complete the released and abandonment of the Easement described
herein and the City Secretary is authorized to attest thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.

DESCRIPTION FOR SAN GABRIEL RIVER FOUNDATION Ltd. — TOM YANTIS et. al.
BEING 0.021 acres (900 square feet) of land, in the William Addison Survey, Abstract No. 21, in Williamson
County, Texas; part of the property that was called 0.17 ac. as described in the deed from Minnie Kate Forest to
the San Gabriel River Place Foundation, LTD, of record in 2008058585, of the Official Public Records Williamson
County, Texas. Said property being formerly known as the East One -Half of Lots 1 and 2, Block 32, Glasscock
Addition, an addition to the City of Georgetown, in Williamson County, Texas, according to the deed from Mary
Aderhold Faught, et. vir., to K.J. Faught, et. ux., as filed in Vol. 585, Pg. 475, and as referenced in the said deed
from Minnie Kate Forest. This parcel is commonly known as a part of Block 32, of the Glasscock Addition
according to the Revised Map of the City of Georgetown as formerly recorded in Vol, 26, Pg. 321, of the Deed
Records of Williamson County, Texas (see index in county records, drawing no longer found of record). Various
deeds in county records reference the Revised Map of the City of Georgetown which is no longer found of record
in the office of the county clerk. Said plat was similar to the map of the City of Georgetown indexing Outlots for
the City of Georgetown as compiled by Walter Rowntree (a.k.a. Original Town), a copy of which is found in the
records of this surveyor. This area of Georgetown is the same area which is commonly known as the Original
Town of Georgetown, for which a record plat of that name has not been found. The record plat that is found for
this area (as indexed under the name of the Town of Georgetown) was filed (Feb. 18, 1854) at Vol. 5, Pg. 211, Deed
Records; gives no lot numbers and reports Block Numbers that were taken from an original map which vary from
those as reported in the said Revised Plat that is no longer found of record. This tract was surveyed on the ground
in October of 2019 under the direction of William F. Forest, Jr., Registered Professional Land Surveyor No. 1847,
Survey note: The bearing basis for this survey is the State Plane Coordinate System, Texas Central Zone (4203),
and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING, at a 1/2" iron pin (steel pin) that was found in the West line of Ash Street (unimproved street), at
the Southeast corner of the said 0.17 ac. tract that was conveyed to the San Gabriel River Place Foundation Ltd.
and at the Northeast corner of the property that was conveyed to Stan and Jennifer Mauldin (Doc. 2015061836).
THENCE with the common boundary of Maultin and the San Gabriel River Place Foundation, Ltd., S 87°52'46"
W, 60.00 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron pin found. This corner exists at the Southeast corner of the West One -Half of
Lots 1 and 2, a tract of land that was conveyed to Willie Mae Montgomery et. al, Trustees of the Montgomery
Trust, as described in Doc. 2018018197.
THENCE, with the common line of said 0.17 acre tract of San Gabriel River Place Foundation and the said
Montgomery tract, N 01°52'56" W N 01°52'56" W, 15.00 feet to the Northwest corner of this easement.
THENCE N 87052'46" E, 60.00 feet to the West line of Ash Street and the East boundary of the said tract called
0.17 acre, for the Northeast corner of this easement.
THENCE with the West line of Ash Street, S 01°51'28" E, 15.00 feet, to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
I, WM. F. FOREST, JR., do hereby certify that this survey was made on the ground of the property legally described
hereon, under my supervision. This description is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. This property abuts
Ash Street, an unimproved roadway, except as shown on the attached survey drawing. Ownership and easement information
for this tract has not been researched except as shown on the attached plat.
