A Resolution authorizing funding agreements between the City of
Georgetown and The Assistance League of Georgetown Area,
Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center -PRIDE Early
Childhood Intervention, Capital Area Rural Transportation System,
Faith in Action Caregivers -Georgetown, Georgetown Caring Place dba
The Caring Place; Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County, Inc.,
Light Texas, Inc., the Literacy Council of Williamson County, Lone
Star Circle of Care, Senior Center at Stonehaven, Williamson County
Crisis Center dba Hope Alliance; and Williamson -Burnet County
Opportunities Inc., and for these agencies and organizations to
continue to provide services for the citizens of Georgetown, and
authorizing the Mayor to execute same and the City Secretary to attest.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that public transportation, public health services,
financial and other support services to at risk families, volunteer and information and referral
services, educational services, affordable housing, mental health and parenting and drug
prevention services, nutritional and social support services for the elderly and homebound
citizens of Georgetown, crisis and support services for the victims of sexual assault and family
violence are not adequately addressed or reasonably addressable by the private sector or other
public entities; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the provision of such services accomplishes a
public purpose and benefits the community of Georgetown, Texas as it enhances the quality of
life and the overall economic development of the city per Chapter 380 of the Local Government
Code; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and the Assistance League of Georgetown Area
desire to enter into an agreement to assist the Assistance League of Georgetown Area in the
provision of clothmg for children in need, as identified by duly qualified G.I.S.D. employees or
agents, in G.LS.D.; and
WHEREAS the City of Georgetown and Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center -
PRIDE Early Childhood Intervention desire to enter into an agreement to assist Bluebonnet
Trails Community MHMR Center -PRIDE Early Childhood Intervention to provide mental
health and developmental services to children born with extreme prematurity, prenatally
exposed to drugs and alcohol, in foster care or who develop autism before age three and their
families; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Capital Area Rural Transportation System
(CARTS) desire to enter into an agreement to assist CARTS in the provision of general public
transportation for the citizens of Georgetown and surrounding communities with emphasis on

the elderly and handicapped, and with destinations including medical facilities/doctors,
grocery stores and other merchants, post office, etc.; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Faith in Action Caregivers -Georgetown desire
to enter into an agreement to assist Georgetown Interfaith Caregivers provide transportation
and other support services to improve the quality of life of senior citizens and help them
remain independent; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and the Georgetown Caring Place dba The Caring
Place desire to enter into an agreement to assist 1 he Caring Place to serve as a central relief
location to help at -risk families living in Georgetown andprovide services that include, but are
not limited to, financial assistance for utility bills, rent or mortgage payments, medical
supplies, prescriptions, dental treatment, or childcare payments, employment assistance,
vouchers for food, clothing or other needed household goods, and school supplies for children
on the Federal Free Lunch Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County,
Inc desire to enter into an agreement to assist Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County,
Inc. provide services to build, or arrange the building of, affordable homes for qualifying low
income families in Georgetown; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Light Texas, Inc. desire to enter into an
agreement to assist Light Texas, Inc to provide scholarships for adults with special needs to
afford the opportunity to attend a day program where they will be productive and give back to
their community through volunteer and entrepreneurial experiences; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Literacy Council of Williamson County
(LCWC) desire to enter into an agreement to assist the LCWC provide Georgetown residents
English as a Second Language tutorials for non-English speakers, Adult Basic Education
instruction for individuals performing below 6th grade levels, and GED preparation for
individuals working to attain their high school equivalency diplomas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Lone Star Circle of Care desire to enter into an
agreement to assist Georgetown Community Clinic in the provision of medical services for
residents of Georgetown who are uninsured or underinsured and are unable to access medical
care through other means; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and the Senior Center at Stonehaven (Center)
desire to enter into an agreement to assist the Center to meet the health, educational, social,
recreational and creative needs of the senior citizen population of Georgetown area; and

WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Williamson County Crisis Center dba Hope
Alliance desire to enter into an agreement to assist the Williamson County Crisis Center in the
provision of services to survivors of family violence, sexual assault, child abuse, includmg
emergency shelter, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, counseling, support groups, supportive
housing and community education crisis and support services to the victims of sexual assault
and family violence for the citizens of Georgetown.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Williamson -Burnet County Opportunities, Inc.
(WBCO), desire to enter into an agreement to assist WBCO provide nutritional services for the
elderly and homebound citizens of Georgetown.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. the facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest
thereto, funding agreements with the Assistance League of Georgetown Area Bluebonnet
Trails Community MHMR Center -PRIDE Early Childhood Intervention, Capital Area Rural
Transportation System, Faith in Action Caregivers -Georgetown, Georgetown Caring Place dba
'I he Caring Place, Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County, Inc., Light Texas, Inc., the
Literacy Council of Williamson County Lone Star Circle of Care, Senior Center at Stonehaven,
Williamson County Crisis Center dba Hope Alliance; and Williamson -Burnet County
Opportunities Inc., and on behalf of the City of Georgetown in substantially the same form as
denoted in the attached exhibits.
SECTION 3. Phis resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
