Meeting Minutes
January 9, 2020
The Animal Shelter Advisory Board met Thursday, January 9! 2020 at 110 WL Walden Dr
Georgetown, TX 78626.
Regular Session — To begin no earlier than 6:00pm.
(This Regular Session may, at any time, be recessed to convene at Executive Session for any pur-
pose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551).

Meeting called to order at 6:04 PM by Monica Gaskamp
1. Presentation of Animal Services and Animal Control Statistical and Analytical Report
for December 2019 — April Haughey (Board Liaison)
a. Intakes in December: 75 dogs and 28 cats. 33 dogs and 22 cats left in shelter January
1, 2020.
b. Three euthanasias, all cats, for a total of 1.5%.
c. December adoptions were 103 animals at 51 %. A (kitten adoption event at the library
was canceled due to lack of kittens. Return to owner was 42, at 20.8%, which is
higher than usual.
d. The average LOS for dogs is down slightly at 15.43%; cat LOS is higher at 16.88%.
2. Presentation of adoption and community events for January, 2020 — April Haughey
(Board Liaison)
a. One adoption event in January at PetSmart near Ik. a.
b. Staff will attend Sun City Town Hall on 1/23.
c. Leadership Georgetown Social Issues Class will do volunteer experience at the shel-
ter.
d. Hutto middle school students will visit the shelter in January.

Presentation of Annual State Inspection for Animal Shelter, Impoundment, and Rabies
Quarantine Facilities results —April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison)
a. The recent inspection highlighted the areas of chipped, degraded and difficult -to -san-
itize flooring noted on the last inspection, all of w ich are scheduled for repair in this
fiscal year. Other than those known issues, there ere no other violations.
4. Public wishing to address the Board
a. As of the time of posting, no person had signed up to address the board.
5. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes rrom December, 2019 — Monica
Gaskamp, Board Chair
a. Minutes reviewed by all present; no corrections n ted. Motion to accept minutes,
Keith Fruge; seconded, Laura Klein Plunkett. Ap roved unanimously.
With no further business or discussion, Keith Fruge made a
conded.
