The City of Georgetown Commission on Aging met on November 18, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Public Safety
Facility, located at 3500 DB Wood Road, Georgetown, TX 78633.

Regular Session
(This Regular session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open
Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.)
A. Call to Order — Acting Chair, Ginny Hahn, called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. Commission
members George Lourigan, Terri Michelle, Kathleen Hopkins, Susan Wells, Sharon Covey, Cass
Wheeler, Ginny Hahn and Jerry Nicklen were present, thus constituting a quorum (one position
remaining vacant). Also present was Linda White, Administrative Assistant, Staff Liaison support
to the Commission, and Fire Chief John Sullivan, Staff Support to the Commission.
Legislative Regular Agenda
B. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes of the meeting held on October 21,
2019 — Ginny Hahn, Acting Chair. The Commission was unanimous in approving the October 21,
2019 minutes. (8-0).
C. Presentation and discussion regarding the social service needs of Georgetown Public Library
patrons, vulnerable citizens, and older adults — Patrick Lloyd, LMSW, Community
Resources Coordinator, Georgetown Public Library. Patrick gave an overview of his position
as a social worker with the City of Georgetown. He gave a generalization overview of the cases he
is experiencing. Patrick is gathering stats so he will have the necessary information in order to
apply for grants. AARP and World Health Organization have resources available when searching
for strategic plans that have been published that address aging issues, as well as available templets
to use in creating individualized grants. Discussion occurred.
D. Review and discussion of draft operational framework for the Commission on Aging —
Kathleen Hopkins, Commission on Aging. Kathleen took the Commission on Aging Mission
Statement and Bylaws, and created a "box type" framework, entitled "Community Partners" that
will possibly give the Commission guidance as future ideas and efforts are discussed and planned.
The page was distributed. Discussion occurred.
E. Discussion of future agendas and priorities — April Haughey, Animal Services Manager, will be
sharing about the Georgetown Animal Services during our December meeting. Due to the Martin
Luther King, Jr. Holiday on January 20, 2020, the Commission on Aging will not be meeting in
January. The next meeting on February 17", Meals on Wheels Central Texas will be presenting to
the Commission.

Adjournment
The next Commission meeting will be Monday, December 16, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., at the Public Safety
Facility, 3500 DB Wood Road, Georgetown, Texas.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. on a motion by George Lourigan, seconded by Kathleen Hopkins,
which the Board approved unanimously. (8-0)
