The mission of the Georgetown Convention and Visitors Bureau is to increase the economic impact on
Georgetown by promoting the community as a tourist and meeting destination.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Stephanie Blanck, Rachel Cummins, Christy Fisher, Rita Healy,
Daniel Orozco, Karen Soeffker, Jim Wilson
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
STAFF PRESENT: Cari Miller, Marie Woodard
GUEST: Tim Peters, Milton Van Dusen, Sam McCutchen
Chair Healy called the meeting to order 8:33 a.m.
Legislative Regular Session
Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the October 10, 2019 minutes - Rita
Healy, CVB Board Chair
Motion by Orozco, second by Wilson to approve the October 10, 2019.
Approved 6-0 (Cummins arrived following vote)
2. Discussion and possible action to approve Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement Grant for the
Jack Frost Basketball Tournament — Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
Van Dusen presented the application and answered questions regarding the tournament which
will be held at Georgetown High School December 5-7, 2019. This is the 41" year of the
Tournament.
Motion by Soeffker, second by Cummins to award $2,000 to the Jack Frost Basketball
Tournament.
Approved 7 — 0
Since the grant is intended for start-up events, the Board requested Miller contact Van Dusen
and suggest the tournament organizers seek other funding opportunities.
3. Discussion and possible action to approve Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement Grant for the
UIL State Soccer Tournament - Cari Miller - Tourism Manager

4. Discussion and possible action to approve Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement Grant for the
GHS Men's and Women's Annual Governor's Cup Soccer Tournament - Cari Miller, Tourism
Manager and Tim Peters with Sam McCutchen representing the tournament
After a presentation by Peters and McCutchen as well as extensive discussion by the Board the
following motion was made.
Motion by Orozco, second by Blanck to award $2,250 to the GHS Men's and Women's Annual
Governor's Cup Soccer Tournament.
Approved 7 - 0
Since the grant is intended for start-up events, the Board requested Miller contact Peters and
suggest the tournament organizers seek other funding opportunities.
Discussion and possible action to approve a Transportation Grant application for the Texas
Association of School Bus Technicians- Cari Miller, Tourism Manager and Marie Woodard -
Group Sales and Servicing Coordinator
Woodard presented the grant application. The funds will be used for transportation to
Downtown Georgetown.
Motion by Fisher, second by Orozco to approve the grant application for a maximum of
$1,946.
Approved 6-0 (Healy abstained)
6. Discussion and possible action to approve a Transportation Grant application for the LGS
Foundation- Cari Miller, Tourism Manager and Marie Woodard - Group Sales and Servicing
Coordinator
Woodard presented the grant application. The funds will be used for transportation from and to
Austin -Bergstrom International Airport to Georgetown.
Motion by Fisher, second by Wilson to approve the grant application for a maximum of
$2,064.82.
Approved 6-0 (Healy abstained)
7. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of
upcoming events - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
No Action was taken.
