Home My WebLink AboutORD 08.15.1966 - ANX Extending BoundariesANNEXATION ORDINANCE 7409 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GEORG.ETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL INHABITANTS, PRESENT AND FUTURE, OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF ALL OTHER CITIZENS.AND BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL THE ACTS AND OR- DINANCES OF SAID CITY AND CONTAINING EMERGENCY CLAUSE: WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by each and every person having an interest in the hereinafter described property and territory; and, WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the City of Georgetown, Texas, and is not more than one- half mile in width; and, WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the day of1966, such date being not less than five nor more than thirty days from the date hereof; and, WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and arguments for and against same, the City Council has voted to grant such petition and to annex said territory to the City of Georgetown, Texas: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that the following described prop- erty, to -wit: BEING 4 acres of the N. Porter Survey, Abst. #497, in Williamson County, Texas, part of a tract described in a deed to J. T. Parker, of record in Vol. 341 , Page 75 , Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. BEGINNING at the N W corner of Lot 11 Block #E, Coun- try Club Acres Addition to Georgetown, Texas, in the West line of the present City Limits of Georgetown, Texas, N -4° 11'"E 126.5 feet from a S W corner of said City Limits. THENCE in a S W direction with the South line of Country Club Road, with a 205 feet radius curve, a distance of'82'.8 feet to the end of the curve. THENCE S 600 16' W 86 feet with the Country Club Road. THENCE N 340 19' W 521.1 feet. THENCE N 620 51' E 313.5 feet. THENCE S 860 03' E 199 feet to a point in. the 'Kest line of the City Limits of Georgetown, Texas. THENCE S 40 11' W 505 feet to the .POINT OF BEGINNING. be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and that the.boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended to include the above described territory within the City limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said city, and said land, and the present and future inhabitants thereof, shall hereafter be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of the City. of Georgetown, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of this City. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the County Clerk of Williamson County, Texas, a certified copy of this or- dinance. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity that the rule requiring ordi- nances to be read at three several meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
