HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 09.11.1979 - Proposed AnnexationRESOLUTION A RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE, TIME, AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PRO- POSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH OR CAUSE TO BE PUBLISHED NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown has, at its meeting on this day held, considered the propriety and the advisability of instituting annexation proceedings relative to a tract of land hereinafter mentioned; and WHEREAS, Article 970a of Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes prescribes procedures to be followed regarding the publication of notice, scheduling of hearing and other such matters; Now, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that on the !?eAl day of at S. ¢ 5 1w o'clock in the City Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Georgetown, Texas, the City Council will hold a public hearing, giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Georgetown, Texas, of the property described in Exhibit "A' attached hereto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Georgetown, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to publish or cause to be published notice of such public hearing once in a newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the above described territory not more than twenty (20) days, nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of said public hearing. Walden City Secretary PERIMETER FIELD NOTES: BEING a tract of land situated in the William Addison Survey, Abstract No. 21, the Clement Stubblefield Survey, Abstract No. 558, and the Ruidosa Irrigation Company Survey, Abstract No. 715 in Williamson County, Texas; said land being South of and adjacent to the South City Limits Line of the City of Georgetown; said land also between Farm -to -Market Road No. 1460 (Church Street) and the abandoned M.K.&.T. Railroad. Being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the existing South City Limits Line of the City of Georgetown with the East margin of Farm -to -Market Road No. 1460 (Church Street), for the N.W. corner hereof; THENCE, southerly, following the said East margin of F.M. 1460, to a point 50 feet left (East) of Engineers Centerline Station 58 + 34, for the most westerly S.W. corner hereof; THENCE N 400 07' E, 379.00 feet, N 14' 07' E, 549.75 feet, N 71' 26' E, 390.00 feet, S 650 15' E, 586.00 feet and S 84° 40' E, 699.00 feet to a point on the West R.O.W. of the abandoned M.K.&.T. Railroad, for an interior corner hereof; THENCE, with the said West R.O.W. of the abandoned M.K.&.T. Railroad, S 26° 10' E, 84.0 feet to a point, for the most easterly S.W. corner hereof; THENCE N 630 50' E, at 25.00 feet pass a width change in the said R.O.W. from 150 feet wide to 100 feet wide, at 125.00 feet pass another width change in the said R.O.W. from 150 feet wide to 100 feet wide, for a total distance of 150.00 feet, in all, to a point on the East R.O.W. of the abandoned M.K.&.T. Railroad, for the S.E. corner hereof; THENCE, northwesterly, following the said East R.O.W. of the abandoned M.K.&.T. Railroad, to the point of intersection of the existing South City Limits Line with the said East margin of the M.K.&.T. Railroad, for the N.E. corner hereof; THENCE, westerly, following the existing South City Limits Line to the place of BEGINNING.
