Statement of goals as your committee understands them: a. Long-range: (SEE ATTACHED INSERT) b. For this year: (SEE ATTACHED INSERT) - 1 - (5.a) 1. Keep Georgetown Electrical Regulations current and inline with the intent of the National Elect. Code and also provide interppretation of those Regulations when necessary. 2. Make certain that persons engaged in the Electrical Construction Industry are qualified and properly licensed to preform all phases of that work in the City of Georgetown. 3. Promote interest in the Education and Training of qualified personnel for the Electrical Construction Industry in the City of Georgetown. Assist where ever possible, City personnel in assuring that Electrical work of all types in the City of Georgetown is of th highest quality where ever practical. (5.b) 1. Assist City Buidling Officials in providing better methods and avenues for enforcement of code violations. 2. Further redesign and refine testing prodecures to make certain that persons engaged in the Electrical Construction Industry are properly trained and qualified. 61 6. Accomplishment/activities during current year: 1. Redesigned all levels of testing for license to better determine applicants qualifications. 7. Plans for your committee's work next year: (SEE ATTACHED INSERT) 8. Does your committee have recommendations for City Council Action? If so, what? Not at this time. Possibly later in conjunction with some of the items listed under Item Seven (7). 9. Will your committee be requesting any city expenditures for the 1986-87 budget year? If so, please be prepared to submit them to the City Manager no later than May, 1986. 10. Does your committee want to make a regular report at a City Council Aleeting? If yes, would you like it scheduled annually, semi-annually or more often. Only if needed or requested by City Council 11. Does your committee have any questions ideas or �m I. Continue to refine testing prodedures. 2. Try to provide City Electrical Inspectors with a logical and legal method of handling and detering repeated violators of City Electrical ordinances. 3. Determine the methods needed for inspection of modular building units moved into the City Jurisdiction that are not covered by State Inspection and make recommendation to City Officials. 4. Consider adoption of the 1984 Nec. z recommendations for the city staff and/or the City'Council? Not at this time. Any additional comments would be welcome. Thank you for this report.
