5. Statement of goals as your committee understands them:
a. Long- range(IPons truct a master plan for the Parks and Recreation
function of the City.
(2) Assist the city staff in preparing a better pre-
ventative maintenance program for parks and rec-
(3) reation facilities
Establish a summer recreation program for city
youth
b. For this year:0 ) Assist with the development of a parks and
recreation budget process
(2) Review all Parks and Recreation land leases
and make recommendations on those which come
up for renewal.

6. Accomplishment/activities during current year: The committee
v ab :i. ormed on April 25, 1985. The Chair and Vice-c-haip along
wiath the secretaby were selected by the members. The length
of terms we-e also drawn by the members. Corrro ittees as set
.forth in the council resolution creating the Parks and Recreation
Comrr:-i_ttee were f owned. The committee his reco.muended changes
in the ope:t.,atior,of city swimming pools so that -the polls will
sorve. the citizens better. The committee has met T<rith. members
TJ. GYRA and GSA, tlx.: two soccer lecgues in th" city and assisted

7. Plans 'or your committee s work next year;
The; long range master plan will Qccupy a 1<<.r�e part of the next
year along with. some recreation programs and budget requests
for Parks and Recreation facilities. ,,le expect to be involved
with the Parents For Pride; in the teen center. The; Parks and..
Recreation land inventory will be updated.
8. Does your committee have recommendations for City Council
Action? If so, what? '°le have made our recommendations do.ring
th.e year and will, continue; to do unless the council instructs
us otherwise.
9. Will your committee be requesting any city expenditures for the
1986-87 budget year? If so, please be prepared to submit them to
the City Manager no later than May, 1986.
