Second by A. Adams. Approved: 7-0 I. Discussion on Project Teams, Partner updates, and BRE visits a. Fundraising Team – K. McAuliffe reported that the spring fundraising art piece has been delayed due to legal reviews. With any contract for services, legal must approve and unfortunately this is slowing down the project several weeks. It’s possible it could still launch in May as part of Preservation Month, but not likely. b. Breakfast Bites – the most recent program took place on March 25th. We had lower attendance than we anticipated and unsure to the reason behind that. As we work towards the next program on June 3, we will be increasing marketing efforts to try to boost attendance. c. Georgetown Swirl – C. Tomaszewski and K. McAuliffe reported that the planning efforts for the Swirl to go were just not coming together like we had hoped. The project team has canceled the event and will focus efforts on revamping 2022 by scheduling visits to wineries and bringing sponsors along for the visits. This will hopefully help with strengthening our relationships with event partners as we move forward. d. Blazin’ Beer Crawl – planning for this event will be starting soon! Board members who are interested in helping with this event can let staff know. At this time, C. Thomaszewski, A. Adams, and M. Jaroszewski-Webb have volunteered. e. BRE visits – K. McAuliffe had an impromptu visit with Mikey V’s when stopping in to visit the shop. The restaurant and retail side is doing great, but the manufacturing side is growing by leaps and bounds and they really need a larger production facility. J. Staff Report – Kim McAuliffe, Downtown Development Manager New developments: Hydrate has officially opened and is still working through training staff at the new location. District Six has also opened in downtown and has been met with great response. Staff continues to work with the library on steps toward finding a new café tenant inside the building. Business closures – Buffalo Seven and Texas Design Co. have sadly closed their businesses. They both remain an online only boutique/shop. The Arts Center mural has been postponed due to unanticipated challenges with the adjacent property owner. Amanda is looking at alternative options and hopes to have a solution soon. Adjourn Motion by D. Wilks to adjourn the meeting. Second by, K. Hill. The meeting was adjourned at 9:47 AM. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Approved by the Main Street Advisory Board on Date _______________________ _ ________________________________ _ Main Street Advisory Board Chair Main Street Advisory Board Secretary on behalf of the Main Street Advisory Board 05-14-21
