A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR SELF -FUNDED
MEDICAL PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION SERVICES, VOLUNTARY
VISION BENEFITS, VOLUNTARY LIFE AND AD&D INSURANCE
COVERAGE, FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATION, AND
COBRA ADMINISTRATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO SUCH CONTRACTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is appropriate to accept the following
health benefit coverage proposals:
Item A: Award a contract to United Healthcare in the estimated amount of $369,820 to
administer the City's self -funded medical program for one (1) year with the option to renew for
four (4) additional one- (1-) year terms and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and sign
renewals as long as such renewals do not deviate more than 7% of the initial per employee per
month contract price.
Item B: Award a contract to United Healthcare for voluntary vision benefits for one (1) year
with the option to renew for two (2) additional one- (1-) year terms, and authorize the City
Manager to negotiate and sign renewals as long as such renewals do not deviate more than 7%
of the initial per employee per month contract price.
Item C: Award a contract to MetLife for voluntary life and AD&D insurance coverage for two
(2) years with the option to renew for three (3) additional year (1-) year terms and authorize the
City Manager to negotiate and sign renewals as long as such renewals do not deviate more than
7% of the initial per employee per month contract price.
Item D: Award a contract to United Healthcare in the estimated amount of $5,000 for flexible
spending account administration for one (1) year with the option to renew for four (4)
additional one- (1-) year terms and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and sign renewals
as long as such renewals do not deviate more than 7% of the initial per employee per month
contract price.
Item E: Award a contract to United Healthcare in the estimated amount of $5,000 for COBRA
administration services for one (1) year with the option to renew for four (4) additional one- (1-)
year terms and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and sign renewals as long as such
renewals do not deviate more than 7% of the initial per employee per month contract price.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN TEXAS:

SECTION ONE. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION TWO. The City Council hereby approves the awards of the contracts listed above in
Items A, D, and E, with three- (3-) year rate guarantees. The City Council hereby approves the
award of the contract in Items B and C with two- (2-) year rate guarantee.
SECTION THREE. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and sign
renewals for Items listed in A, B, C, D, and E, as long as such renewals do not deviate more than
7% of the per employee per month contract price.
SECTION FOUR. This Resolution shall become effective on the da iYy of 2021.
PASSED AND APPROVED on the day of 2021.
