HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_MSTAB_03.11.2022Minutes of a Meeting of the Main Street Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas Friday, March 11, 2022 The Main Street Advisory Board met on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 9:00 AM at Georgetown City Hall Community Room, 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St. The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Christine Tomaszewski called the meeting to order at 9:04 AM. Members: Christine Tomaszewski, Michele Jaroszewski-Webb, Lauren Mendoza, Rachel Cummins, Trisha Tallman, and Jennifer Ridings-Myhra were in attendance. Absent — Bobby Weisbrod Staff in attendance: Kim McAuliffe, Downtown Development Manager, Sharon Parker, Board Liaison Guests in attendance - Regular Session (This regular session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.) A. Call to order at 9:04 a.m. B. Introduction of new board members: Trisha Tallman, Rachel Cummins and Jennifer Ridings-Myhra — Christine Tomaszewski, Board Chair C. Consideration and possible action to elect a Vice -Chair and Secretary. — Christine Tomaszewski, Board Chair T. Tallman made a motion to recommend Michele Jaroszewsky-Webb as Vice Chair, Second by R. Cummins. C. Tomaszewski made a motion to recommend Lauren Mendoza as Secretary, Second by J. Ridings-Myhra. Approved: 6-0 D. Review of Main Street Advisory Board bylaws — Christine Tomaszewski, Board Chair T. Tallman recommended bringing the bylaw review to the annual retreat. E. Review of the City Council's Boards and Commissions Attendance Policy — Christine Tomaszewski, Board Chair F. Consideration and possible action regarding approval of the February 11, 2022, board meeting minutes -Christine Tomaszewski, Board Chair Motion by L. Mendoza to approve the minutes as presented. Second by M. Jaroszewski- Webb . Approved: 6-0 G Discussion and possible action on a Main Street Star nomination— Kim McAuliffe, Downtown Development Manager Motion by Webb . Approved: 6-0 L. Discussion of the Main Street Advisory Board Annual Retreat & Site Visit— Kim McAuliffe, Downtown Development Manager Discussion on Project Teams, Partner updates, and BRE visits a. Fundraising — no major updates, need to get Christmas ornament selected. b. Georgetown Swirl — went great, weather was amazing, think we will make around $30,000 c. Blazin Beer Crawl — August 6th d. Small Business Week Workshops — May 2-6, will have workshops daily e. Preservation Month is May, will also incorporate Georgetown's 401h anniversary. f. BRE Visits — no visits this month g. The Chambers is hosting a meeting of Business owners the 15l Wednesday Monthly at 10:00 am. J. Staff Report — Kim McAuliffe, Downtown Development Manager Fagade Grant balance is $9,799. And with the annual CAFR adjustment we should have around $55,000 by the end of March. Developments — Rentsch Tap Room, Union Merchant and The Little Lemon at the Library. Construction updates — Starting sidewalk work again and trying to get completed before Poppyfest. 91h/Main street parking lot and the parking lot next to Monument Cafe are being repaved and new striping. Garage project is moving forward. Should be further discussion at the March 22"d Council Meeting. Events — The Spring Art Stroll is 04/21, Thursdays Farmers Market, 2"d Saturday Market Days, and Developing a Food Truck Fridays. Annual Retreat — we are combining with the Arts & Culture Advisory Board to Waco, discussed potential dates. Kim will send out a poll to select best date. Motion by C. Tomaszewski to adjourn the meeting. Second by, T. Tallman The meeting was adjourned at 10:07 AM.
