HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_LAB_03.07.2023Minutes of the Library Advisory Board City of Georgetown, Texas Tuesday, March 7, 2023 The Georgetown Library Advisory Board met on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Public Library, 402 W. 8th Street. The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The following Members were in attendance: Present were: Richard Thielmann, Susan Cooper, Nosa Asowata, Nancy K Hill, Catherine Morales 1. Regular Session 1.A Board member introduction Introduction of incoming Library Advisory Board member --Sally Miculek, Library Director Susan Poyo will soon be appointed to the Library Advisory Board. Dr. Poyo was unable to attend this month's meeting but will be introduced to the board at May's meeting, after her appointment. 1.13 Staff spotlight Staff introduction and service spotlight, featuring the Technical Services department -- Sally Miculek, Library Director Technical Services Librarian Dana Hendrix introduced a few members of her team to the Board. Acquisitions Manager Valerie Barber and Library Assistant Lana Stone, talked about their history with library and the work they do on the technical services team. 1.0 LAB Minutes Consideration and possible action to approve the January 3, 2023 Library Advisory Board minutes --Nosa Asowata, Board Chair Moved by Catherine Morales; seconded by Nancy K Hill to Approve the January 3, 2023 meeting minutes.. Motion Approved: 5- 0 Voting For: Richard Thielmann, Susan Cooper, Nosa Asowata, Nancy K Hill, Catherine Morales Voting Against: None 1.D Library Director's Report Consideration of the Library Director's report -- Sally Miculek, Library Director Miculek reviewed her monthly report with the Board, providing information regarding library programs, operations and statistics. 1. E Board Meeting Schedule Consideration and possible action regarding future meeting dates and times -- Nosa Asowata, Board Chair The board did not need to change the meeting date or time. The next meeting will take place as regularly scheduled on May 2, 2023 at 6 p.m. Public Wishing to Address the Board On a subject that is posted on this agenda: Please fill out a speaker registration form which can be found on the table at the entrance to the meeting room. Clearly print your name and the letter of the item on which you wish to speak and present it to the Board Liaison prior to the start of the meeting. You will be called forward to speak when the Board considers that item. Only persons who have delivered the speaker form prior to the meeting being called to order may speak. Speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to speak. If you wish to speak for six minutes, it is permissible to use another requestor's granted time to speak. No more than six minutes for a speaker may be granted. The requestor granting time to another speaker must also submit a form and be present at the meeting. On a subject not posted on the agenda: A request must be received by the Advisory Board or Commission Liaison prior to the day the agenda for this mee ng is posted.
