The Georgetown Main Street Advisory Board met on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 9:00 AM at City Hall, 808
Martin Luther King, Jr Street.

1.0 Project Team & Partner Updates
Discussion on Project Teams, Partner updates, and BRE Visits - Evan Cuyler, Vice
Board Chair
Fundraising - note cards are for sale at the Visitor Center
• Blazin Beer Crawl - had our first committee meeting, we discussed the event runs
well and don't think there are any changes needed this year. The event will be on
August 5th. Tickets go on sale June 1st. 200 VIP, 400 GA. Opening for sponsors
now.
• Partner updates - May is Preservation Month. Main Street documentary - 40
years of Main Street on Wednesday, May 24th at 6:30 pm. DGA is hosting a
summer shopping event, over Memorial Day weekend. They are moving Market
Days due to the weather and combining the two events.
• BRE Visits — non-scheduled but visited with several businesses during the Poppy
Festival.

Staff Report - Kim McAuliffe, Downtown and Tourism Director
Adjournment
No major changes to the Facade Fund. Reached out to some of the new
businesses and have some interest with the new Hamburger place and the new
Pub.
Business and Development updates - New Italian restaurant at 8th and Church,
City Center space - HARC approved. The plat needs an exemption.
Upcoming event dates to remember - Retreat is confirmed for June 9th to
Temple, will leave here at 8:30 and get back by 3:00 or 3:30. Juneteenth
Celebration will kick off on Friday with a concert in the City Center from 6:00 -
8:00 pm. Wayfinding project will go to City Council on June 13th. No meeting in
July.
