Friday, August 11, 2023
The Georgetown Main Street Advisory Board met on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 9:00 AM at City Hall,
808 Martin Luther King, Jr Street.

The following Members were in attendance:

Michele was absent and Evan the Vice Chair ran the meeting

1.A Call to order
Call to order — Evan Cuyler, Board Vice Chair 9:03 AM
1.13 Introduction of new staff members
Introduction of new staff members - Kim McAuliffe, Downtown & Tourism Director
Kim introduced new internal staff members, Allyson Turvey, Events and Marketing
Coordinator, and Shelly Sommerfeld, Administrative Assistant for Economic
Development and new board liaison. The board also gave introductions.
1.0 Approval of minutes
Consideration and approval of the July 14, 2023 minutes - Evan Cuyler, Board Vice
Chair
Moved by Markus Lindsey; seconded by Lauren A Mendoza to Approve.
Motion Approved: 6- 0

1.D Project Team & Partner Updates
Discussion on Project Teams, Partner updates, and BRE Visits - Kim McAuliffe,
Downtown and Tourism Director
- Update on ornament options, 3D printed options for Courthouse will cost double the
standard price. Board recommends selling the ornament for $30-$35 depending on the
final price estimate.
- Blazin' Beer Crawl — staff gave an overview of the event and created a survey to
send out to all attendees. Had a new record $18,000 profit. There will be a Wrap Up
Party for the volunteers on the 23rd of August.
- Upcoming Events - Labor Day Sidewalk Sale, New Event to coincide with Small
Business Saturday will be Coffee & Cocoa Crawl, Breakfast Bites, and Downtown Low
Down is still being worked on for logistics and timing, and the Chamber of Commerce will
partner for the event.
- Georgetown Wine Swirl - Kim is going to send a survey to prior attendees before we
have the first meeting for this year's event.
- Partner Updates - Chamber Golf Tournament coming up in Sept, Kim and Amanda
met with the new President of Preservation Georgetown discuss partnerships for future
events.
1. E Staff Report
Staff Report - Kim McAuliffe, Downtown and Tourism Director
- Facade fund has no new requests at this time.
- We have submitted 3 entrees to the Texas Downtown Association President's Awards -
Best Restoration, City Post Chop House - Best Public Improvement, South Main Arts
District - Best Downtown Partner, Be Local.
- New Businesses - Blushing Bell recently opened, The Grumpy George, LaRiv and
Juliet Italian Kitchen (Old Gumbos) will be opening soon.
- Downtown Master Plan - 8 months in and the Virtual Engagement Rooms with feedback
opportunity is out now until August 18.
- Arts & Culture - City is working with GT Artworks to take on a more operational role.
- Market Days is tomorrow.
