A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 4, 2019 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas ordered a general election to be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, for the purpose of electing Councilmembers for Districts 3, 4 and 7; WHEREAS, on May 4th, an election was held on the following: To elect a Councilmember from the City of Georgetown Single -member District 3; to elect a Councilmember from the City of Georgetown Single -member District 4; and to elect a Councilmember from the City of Georgetown Single -Member District 7; and WHEREAS, the election officers who held said election have prepared the returns of the results thereof, and the returns have been delivered to the City Council; and WHEREAS, it appears from the returns, duly and legally made, that the following votes were cast: FOR COUNCILMEMBER DISTRICT 3 Michael Triggs 784 John Hesser 713 FOR COUNCILMEMBER DISTRICT 4 Steve Fought 1,010 Joe Reedholm 509 FOR COUNCILMEMBER DISTRICT 7 Tommy Gonzalez 220 Jaquita Wilson 205 Resolution No. Canvass of May 4, 2019 General Election Page 1 of 3 Pages Page 4 of 6 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TEXAS, that: SECTION I. The City Council officially finds and determines that the election was duly called; that proper notice of the election was given in accordance with law; that the election was held in accordance with law; that returns of the results of the election have been made and delivered, and that the City Council has canvassed the returns, all in accordance with the law and the resolution calling the election. SECTION II. It appears from said returns, duly and legally made, that Mike Triggs was duly elected as the Councilmember for the City of Georgetown Single -Member District 3, and that Steve Fought was duly elected as the Councilmember for the City of Georgetown Single -Member District 4, and that Tommy Gonzalez was duly elected as the Councilmember for the City of Georgetown, Single Member District 7. SECTION III Therefore, the Councilmembers shall be as follows: OFFICE MAYOR ROSS DISTRICT 1 COUNCIL MEMBER EBY DISTRICT 2 COUNCIL MEMBER NICHOLSON DISTRICT 3 COUNCIL MEMBER TRIGGS DISTRICT 4 COUNCIL MEMBER FOUGHT DISTRICT 5 COUNCIL MEMBER PITTS DISTRICT 6 COUNCIL MEMBER JONROWE DISTRICT 7 COUNCIL MEMBER GONZALEZ Resolution No. Canvass of May 4, 2019 General Election Page 2 of 3 Pages DATE TERM EXPIRES MAY 2020 MAY 2021 MAY 2020 MAY 2022 MAY 2022 MAY 2021 MAY 2020 MAY 2022 Page 5 of 6 SECTION IV It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order of this governing body, the City Secretary posted written notice of the date, place and subject of this meeting on the bulletin board located outside of City Hall, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public, and said notice was posted and remained posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of the meeting. A copy of the posting shall be attached to the minutes of this meeting and shall be made a part thereof for all intents and purposes. PASSED AND APPROVED on this day of 2019.
