Attendance by Members is integral to success of the commission, committee or board. It is Council policy to require a minimum of 75 percent attendance of each Member at each regularly scheduled meeting including subcommittee meetings. A Member shall be allowed two excused absences for the Member's personal medical care, required medical care of a Member's immediate family member (as defined by City Ordinance), or Member's military Service that shall not count against the 75 percent attendance requirement. Written notice shall be sent to a Member and the Member's City Council representative when it appears the Member may violate the attendance policy by being absent from more than 25 percent of regularly scheduled meetings, including subcommittee meetings. Excessive absenteeism may result in the Member being replaced by the Council. Call to Order - Building Standards Commission Greenberg called meeting to order at 6:00 pm Legislative Regular Agenda B. Consideration and approval of meeting minutes from the BSC meeting held on August 21, 2014 Motion by Wahrenbrock, seconded by Galloway to approve minutes – Approved 3-0 C. Consideration and possible action to recommend approval of the revised Bylaws. The City Council revised the Code of Ordinances Chapter 2.64 regarding the Building Standards Commission on November 11, 2014. The Board Bylaws are being amended to conform with the revisions made to Chapter 2.64 and are submitted to the Board for review at this time. The Bylaws will be submitted to the City Council for review and approval in February 2015 – Dave Hall, Building Official Dave Hall reviewed changes - Motion by Galloway, seconded by Wahrenbrock to approve – Approved 3-0 D. Discussion and possible approval of variance request to the 2012 International Fire Code as amended, specifically Section 8.04.300, Subsection 903.2.1.3pertaining to a A-3 occupancy group and Section 8.04.400, subsection 903.6.3 pertaining to an existing non-sprinkled building and change of occupancy and requiring a fire sprinkler system for a tenant finish-out project to be located at 105 Wildwood Drive, Suites 210-213 in Georgetown, Texas, 78633 - Dave Hall, Building Official and John Sullivan, Fire Chief Hall discussed the Fire Code Variance Request from Anytime Fitness, Clay Shell – Asst. Fire Chief, Don Jansen – Fire Plans Examiner, and Ray Cummings – Battalion Chief answered any questions from the board pertaining to code and if they recommended the request to not sprinkle the suites. Fire Dept. agreed they were in favor of variance request to not sprinkle the suites. Jason Vogus from Anytime Fitness spoke to the board and stated the suites have an alarm system but wasn’t aware if it had smoke detectors.
