Jim Cramer (audience member) spoke and had a few questions for the Board just for clarification on the Fire Protection of Floors and the sprinkler system requirements. The Board asked Cramer to meet with Hall privately since it needed to be a discussion between those two. Legislative Regular Agenda C Consideration and approval of meeting minutes from the BSC meeting held on May 15,2014 Motion by Dees, seconded by Galloway – Approved 4-0 (Greenberg absent) D Consideration and approval of meeting minutes from the BSC meeting held on June 5, 2014 Motion by Dees, seconded by Galloway – Approved 4-0 (Greenberg absent) E Consideration and approval of meeting minutes from the BSC meeting held on June 19, 2014 Motion by Galloway, seconded by Dees – Approved 4-0 (Greenberg absent) F Presentation and discussion of the 2012 International Residential scope and effects the code has on the City of Georgetown – Dave Hall, Building Official Hall discussed effects the 2012 Code will have on the City of Georgetown G Presentation and discussion to approve appendices A, B, C,D,E, G, H, J, K, M, N and P of the 2012 International Residential Code for the recommended code adoption – Dave Hall, Chief Building Official Gary Harrell (audience member) had questions for the Board about what adopting the appendices means to the code enforcement and adopting the new codes. Motion by Dees, seconded by Wahrenbrock for reasons stated – Approved 4-0 (Greenberg absent) H Consideration and possible action to recommend approval to the City Council of Georgetown Texas to adopt by Ordinance the 2012 International Residential Code along with all local proposed amendments as approved by the Building Standards Commission – Dave Hall, Building Official Hall discussed local amendments Motion by Dees, seconded by Galloway to approve for reasons stated with exception to add the wording (or at the discretion of the Building Official) to Local Amendment - Code IRC-2012 Chapter 1 – Section 105, R105.1.2 Homestead Exemption Permit that states: No person who has obtained and currently holds a homestead exemption permit for a certain location shall be issued an additional homestead exemption permit for a different location unless authorized and at the discretion of the Building Official.
