HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_GTEU_10.19.2023Minutes of the Electric Utility Advisory Board City of Georgetown, Texas Thursday, October 19, 2023 The Georgetown Electric Utility Advisory Board met on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Georgetown Municipal Complex, Williamson Room, 300 Industrial Ave. The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The following Members were in attendance: Present were: Robert C Case, Sammy R Jones, Mike Triggs, Benjamin H Butler 1. Regular Session 1.A Call to Order Call to Order -- Robert Case; Board Chairman The meeting began at 4:00 PM. 1.13 Introduction of Members and Welcome of new members Introduction of FY23 Board members -- Robert Case; Board Chair Board members and staff welcomed Robert Case and Ben Butler to their new term for the Electric Advisory Board. 1.0 Introduction of Board Liaison and Staff Introduction of Board Liaison and Staff-- Krisen Lowry; Board Liaison Krisen Lowry introduced herself as Board Liaison and her team that reports the Electric Operations Report -- Daniel Bethapudi, Kress Carson, Mike Westbrook, and Daniel Potter. 1.D Introduction of Visitors Introduction of Visitors -- Robert Case; Board Chairman None present 1.E Public wishing to address the Board Public wishing to address the Board --Robert Case; Board Chairman None present 1.F Overview of Board Purpose Overview of Board Purpose and Section 2.36 City Commissions, Committees and Boards of the Municipal Code, including member duties, attendance policy and how Conflicts of Interest are addressed. -- Krisen Lowry; Board Liaison. Reviewed Board purpose that is posted on the Georgetown city website. There are no updates or changes to it. 1.G Consideration, nomination, and election of Vice Chair Consideration, nomination, and election of Vice Chair -- Robert Case; Board Chair Moved by Sammy R Jones; seconded by Mike Triggs to Approve Rick Woodruff was nominated by Sam Jones and second by Mike Tiggs.. Motion Approved: 4- 0 Voting For: Robert C Case, Sammy R Jones, Mike Triggs, Benjamin H Butler Voting Against: None 1.1-1 Approval of minutes Consideration and approval of the September 23rd, 2023 minutes -- Krisen Lowry, Board Liaison Moved by Mike Triggs; seconded by Sammy R Jones to Approve. Motion Approved: 4- 0 Voting For: Robert C Case, Sammy R Jones, Mike Triggs, Benjamin H Butler Voting Against: None 1.I Electric Monthly Operating Report Discussion regarding the Electric Monthly Operations Report -- Kress Carson; Electric Utility Analyst Kress Carson opened the discussion of the Electric Monthly Operating Report. Leigh Wallace presented the Customer Service and Billing Report. An update on the new billing software, UMAX was presented to the board along with Customer statistics of the meters were reviewed and the billing for all meters. Aged Receivables report and Collection Agency Review were briefly discussed. Mike Westbrook presented the operations report and discussed the Top 5 Outages, Performance Metrics, and a brief discussion on the actions being taken to replace the failed equipment that caused three outages on 9/15, 9/16, and 9/24. Mike Westbrook also presented the Electric Safety and Employee Development Report and discussed URD Cable Testing Program Implementation and L.E.D. Fault Indicator Refresher training. Daniel Bethapudi presented an update on the Electric Cost of Service Study. Announcing that a consultant will come soon to present to the board members. 2.
