March 12, 2020
The mission of the Georgetown Convention and Visitors Bureau is to increase the economic impact on
Georgetown by promoting the community as a tourist and meeting destination.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Stephanie Blanck, Karen Soeffker, Blake Triplet, Jim Wilson
MEMBERS ABSENT: Rachel Cummins, Christy Fisher, Daniel Orozco
STAFF PRESENT: Cari Miller, Marie Woodard, Eric Lashley
GUEST: Sam McCutchen, Tim Peters, Dwight Edman, Kathy Clifford-
Grazinskas, Milton Van Dusen
1. Chair Soeffker called the meeting to order at 8:36 a.m.
Legislative Regular Session
2. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the February 6, 2020 minutes - Karen
Soeffker, CVB Board Chair
Motion by Soeffker, second by Wilson to approve the February 6, 2020 minutes.
Approved 3-0. (Triplet abstained, he was not on the Board at that time)
3. Board Member Introductions - Karen Soeffker, CVB Board Chair
Triplet was welcomed to the Board
4. Discussion and possible action regarding the nomination and election of Board Vice-Chair and
Secretary - Karen Soeffker, CVB Board Chair

6. Discussion and possible action to approve Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement Grant for the
Texas Bach Festival - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
Edman and Grazinskas reviewed the packet submitted and answered questions. After
discussion, the following motion was made.
Motion by Blanck, second by Wilson to award $2,000 to the Texas Bach Festival
Approved 4-0.

7. Discussion and possible action to approve Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement Grant for
the UIL State Soccer Tournament - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
McCutchen and Peters reviewed the packet submitted, answered questions, and noted that
UIL has approved for the State Tournament be in Georgetown through 2022. Following
discussion, the following motion was made.
Motion by Soeffker second by Triplet to award $2,500 to the U.I.L. State Tournament.
Approved 4-0
8. GHS Men's and Women's Annual Governor Cup Soccer Tournament Hotel Occupancy Tax
Reimbursement Grant Follow–Up report Presentation- Cari Miller, Tourism Manager

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are a great number of unknowns. City management will
be will meet on March 13, 2020 to discuss rescheduling the Festival.
17. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of
upcoming events - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
Packet reviewed and discussion. Marie Woodard announced to the Board her resignation
from the Georgetown CVB.
No action was taken.

Motion by Soeffker, second by Wilson to adjourn the meeting at 9:47 a.m.
