S UB MIT T E D B Y: S haron P arker AT TAC H ME N T S: Description Type Boards and Commissions Attendance Policy Backup Material Page 11 of 32 SEC 2.36.010 DUTIES OF COMMISSION, COMMITTEE & BOARD MEMBERS Attendance by Members is integral to success of the commission, committee or board. It is Council policy to require a minimum of 75 percent attendance of each Member at each regularly scheduled meeting including subcommittee meetings. A Member shall be allowed two excused absences for the Member's personal medical care, required medical care of a Member's immediate family member (as defined by City Ordinance), or Member's military Service that shall not count against the 75 percent attendance requirement. Written notice shall be sent to a Member and the Member's City Council representative when it appears the Member may violate the attendance policy by being absent from more than 25 percent of regularly scheduled meetings, including subcommittee meetings. Excessive absenteeism may result in the Member being replaced by the Council. Call to order – Susie Flatau, Board Chair Susie Flatau Called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m. B. Citizens wishing to address the board – Susie Flatau, Board Chair None present. C. Announcements regarding Arts & Culture– Susie Flatau, Board Chair Karen – all of their educational programs are full and on a waitlist Norma – work on exhibit at the Library for Black History Month. David – March 19th Photography festival on the square. Free classes at the art center and a live zoom at the library. Susie – Hoot and Howl on Feb 23rd from 6-7 pm. David Valdez work on display and will be the guest speaker at Grace Heritage on March 17th. work is on display at the Palace theater. D. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from the January 18, 2022 Arts and Culture Board meeting – Susie Kelly Flatau, Board Chair. Motion by Sonya Robinson to approve the minutes as presented, second by David Valdez Approved 5-0 Marissa Palmer and Jessica Sobhani absent . Page 14 of 32 Minutes Arts & Culture Advisory Board City of Georgetown, Texas Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 4:30 PM E. Discussion of Library crosswalk art– Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator. Discussion: Amanda presented the artwork, this was designed by a staff member at the library. The staff and the library board has approved. The goal is to have it installed by the stroll. This will be our pilot program. We will have a booth set up during the festival to get feedback from the public. The life span is about 2-4 years. Public Works staff has equipment needed to remove when ready. No action needed. F.
