The Arts & Culture Advisory Board met on Tuesday, May 19, 2021 at 4:30 PM via Zoom virtual meeting.

A. Call to order – Susie Flatau, Board Chair
Susie Flatau Called the meeting to order at 4:34p.m.
B. Discussion on how this virtual conference will be conducted, to include options for public comments
and how the public may address the Commission – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator
Amanda Still, explained how the virtual conference would be conducted.
C. Citizens wishing to address the board – Susie Flatau, Board Chair

D. Announcements regarding Arts & Culture– Susie Flatau, Board Chair
• Susie – Full circle on May 20th
• Jess – GISD wrapped up end of year.
• Karen – Palace Theater will announce their season schedule this Thursday, they are also going to
do a summer concert series.
• Norma – GISD is going to do a virtual art show.
• Sonya – SW had its graduation, campus is quiet but will have fall productions.

E. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from the April 20, 2021 Arts and Culture Board
meeting - Susie Flatau, Board Chair.
Motion by David Valdez to approve the minutes as presented, second by Sonya Robinson. Approved 6-0
Marissa Palmer absent.
F. Consideration and Possible action to approve an application to the Texas Commission on the Arts for a
Cultural District Grant – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator
This is the annual TCA Culture District grant that we have the opportunity to apply for, the project we
are applying to use this for a the Capital Improvement project. This is by Founders Park and Grace
Heritage Plaza as an Arts District for arts programming.
Motion by David Valdez to approve an application to the Texas Commission on the Arts for a Cultural
District Grant, second by Sonya Robinson. Approved 6-0. Marissa Palmer absent.
G. Consideration and Possible action to approve updates to the Annual Georgetown Sculpture Tour Call
for Entries and Artist Agreements – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator
Amanda presented changes made to the Entries and Agreements.
Motion by David Valdez to approve the changes to the Entries and Agreements as proposed, second by
Sonya Robinson. Approved 6-0. Marissa Palmer absent.
H. Consideration and Possible action to approve updates to Georgetown Arts and culture grant
guidelines and requirements – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator
Amanda presented changes and recommendations for the Grant guidelines and requirements, Sonya
Robinson recommended adding in the last paragraph “prior to reallocation the funds”
Motion by Sonya Robinson to approve changes and recommendations for the Grant guidelines and
requirements with the added paragraph of prior to reallocations of the funds, second by David Valdez.
Approved 6-0. Marissa Palmer absent.
I. Presentation of Arts & Culture Coordinator report – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator
• Public Art Program - City hall Gallery, projects in progress, Georgetown Title Mural
• Cultural District Program – City Center Project, Arts District Project, Banner Project
J. Consideration and possible action regarding future meeting dates - Susie Flatau, Board Chair.
• The next meeting will be in person, would like to get the Board together for a group photo.
• Discuss Board Subcommittees
