Minutes of the meeting of the
Arts and Culture Board
City of Georgetown, Texas
June 21, 2016
The Arts and Culture Board met on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. in the Small Conference
Room of Georgetown Public Library, 402 W. 8th Street
MEMBERS PRESENT: Gary Anderson, Tim Fleming, Jeff Hillery, Betty Ann Sensabaugh, Laura
Sewell, and Linda Wilde.
STAFF PRESENT: Eric Lashley- Library Director, Dana Hendrix- Fine Arts Librarian, Lawren Weiss-
Administrative Assistant, and Kaleigh Kelley- Arts & Culture Intern
Chair Sensabaugh called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
Regular Session
A. Citizens wishing to address the board. – None were present. No action required.
B. Announcements of upcoming arts and culture events. – Board members discussed upcoming
arts and culture events in Georgetown. No action required.
C. Consideration and approval of the minutes of the May 17, 2016 Arts & Culture Board meeting.
-Betty Ann Sensabaugh. Laura Sewell moved to approve the May 2016 minutes as
distributed. Linda Wilde seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
D. Introduction of Arts and Culture Intern Kaleigh Kelley. –Dana Hendrix. Hendrix introduced
Kaleigh Kelley to the Board, who discussed her duties as the City’s first Arts & Culture Intern.
No action required.
E. Report from Georgetown Art Works regarding operation of the Georgetown Art Center. – Eric
Lashley. Lashley reviewed the report from Georgetown Art Works (attached to these minutes).
Discussion ensued regarding the organization’s recent high turnover rate of board members,
decline in the volunteer base, the new office manager Lindsey Jones, and how the changes
could impact the Arts and Culture Guide. No action taken.
F. Discussion of future City arts and culture budget. –Eric Lashley. Lashley asked Board
members to brainstorm new projects for next fiscal year that would benefit the cultural district’s
nonprofit organizations, as well as local artists. No action taken.
G. Consideration of future board meetings. –Betty Ann Sensabaugh. The next Arts and Culture
Board meeting will be on July 19, 2016 at 4:30 PM. No action taken.
Chair Sensabaugh adjourned the meeting at 5:50 p.m.
