Call to order – David Valdez, Board Vice Chair David Valdez Called the meeting to order at 4:33p.m. B. Citizens wishing to address the board – David Valdez, Board Vice Chair None present. C. Announcements regarding Arts & Culture– David Valdez, Board Vice Chair • David – Grants cycle ending, website is a great resource. • Jess – GISD out for summer. • Sonya – SW is out for the summer, working on a proposal for fine arts if selected I will come back to the board with opportunities and ideas. • Norma – Library exhibitions – June 16th longitudes with latitudes and June 20th Texas society of sculptors • Karen – selling season tickets to the Palace, Mama Mia is coming up. D. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from the May 19, 2021 Arts and Culture Board meeting – David Valdez, Board Vice Chair. Approved 6-0 Susie Flatau absent. E. Consideration and Possible action to create volunteer subcommittees of the Arts and Culture Board for Events and Exhibitions and to include nominations for subcommittee Chairs – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator No action taken, Amanda will take feedback and gather more information to bring back at a later meeting. F. Consideration and Possible action to select artwork for the utility box at the entrance of Two Rivers Apartments at 105 N Austin Ave. – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator There were 5 selections to choose from that were previously presented to the board. Motion by Sonya Robinson to select the artwork with the Tree, second by Jessica Sobhani. Approved 6- 0. Susie Flatu absent. G. Presentation of Arts & Culture Coordinator report – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator • Public Art Program - City hall Gallery, projects in progress – GHS Mural, Mural at Georgetown Title. • Cultural District Program – City Center Project, Arts District Project, Banner Project H. Consideration and possible action regarding future meeting dates – David Valdez, Board Vice Chair. Next scheduled Arts & Culture Advisory Board Meeting is on July 20, 2021.
