The Arts & Culture Advisory Board met on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 4:30 PM at Georgetown City Hall

Regular Agenda:
A. Call to order – Susie Flatau, Board Chair
Susie Flatau Called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m.
B. Citizens wishing to address the board – Susie Flatau, Board Chair
None present.
C. Announcements regarding Arts & Culture– Susie Flatau, Board Chair
Karen – The Wizard of Oz has closed.
Susie – Is Resigning from the Arts & Culture Board because her family is moving. Full Circle will no longer
happen unless someone else wants to take over it.
David – attended an Arts Festival in Salado.
D. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from the July 14, 2022 Arts and Culture Board
meeting – Susie Kelly Flatau, Board Chair.
Motion by David Valdez to approve the minutes as presented, second by Rachel
Hancock Approved 4-0 Karen had stepped out of the meeting during this item .
E. Discussion and possible action to approve the Event Subcommittee recommendations for the artist
booths at the South Main Arts Festival – Amanda Still, Arts and Culture Coordinator

Discussion: Board and staff reviewed submissions.
Motion by Karen Turpin to approve the artist booths per discussion. Second by Norma Clark
Approved 5-0 .
F. Discussion and possible action to select the artists to exhibit in the 2022-2023 Georgetown Sculpture
Tour– Amanda Still, Arts and Culture Coordinator
Discussion: Board and staff reviewed submissions, requirements, and placements of sculptures.
Motion by David Valdez to approve the submissions per discussions and recommendations.
Second by Rachel Hancock Approved 5-0 .
G. Discussion and possible action to recommend for acceptance by the Georgetown Public Library a
donation of artwork by local artist Robert Douglass– Amanda Still, Arts and Culture Coordinator
Motion by David Valdez to recommend the acceptance of Artwork from local artist Robert
Douglass for the Georgetown Public Library. Second by Norma Clark Approved 5-0 .
H. Presentation of Arts & Culture Coordinator report – Amanda Still, Arts & Culture Coordinator
• Public Art Program
o Projects in Progress – GISD Mural for 2023, Sculpture Tour, Improvements at San Jose
Shrine, TCA Grant opportunity, Spring/Summer 2023
• Cultural District Programming
o Arts District, Construction scheduled for completing in September, Scott Shubin’s
maquette.
o Georgetown Autumn Art Stroll, updated graphic for Stroll, Program guide, poster design.

• Future Meeting Timeline
o September Library Teen Advisory Board mural design.
o October meeting cancelled due to Art Stroll Festival.
