Deliberation regarding commercial or financialinformation that the corporation has received from
a business prospect that theGeorgetown Economic Development Corporation seeks to have
locate, stay, orexpand in or near the territory of the City of Georgetown and with which the
Corporationis conducting economic development negotiations; and/or deliberation regardingthe
offer of a financial or other incentive to a business prospect that the Corporation seeks to have
locate, stay, or expand in or near the territory ofthe City of Georgetown.

Discussion and possible action regarding a review of Promotional Funds employed in the first part of
2013 and the Marketing/Promotion Plan for the 2013/2014 budget year--Mark Thomas, Economic

ITEM SUMMARY:
At meetings in 2010, GEDCO discussed and reviewed potential marketing programs that could be funded
with Type A funds. GEDCO approved the use of Type A funds as Promotional Funds with instruction to
staff to provide information on each program for approval.Then, at its December 17, 2012 meeting,
GEDCO reviewed and approved $80,350 to fund a 2013 Marketing/Promotion Plan with the action
below:Motion by Marler, second by Brown to approve the use of Promotional Funds in an amount not to
exceed $80,350 for the Economic Development 2013 Marketing/Promotion Plan, including the travel
expenses for Mike Douglas, the TLCC President, to bio events he attends with Mark Thomas. Approved
3-0 (Sattler, Gonzalez Absent)Staff has created an aggressive Marketing/Promotion Plan for the
2013/2014 Budget year and respectfully requests that GEDCO approve the use funds to cover the costs of
the Plan.
