S UB MIT T E D B Y: AT TAC H ME N T S: Description Type Minutes September 2021 Backup Material Page 2 of 7 Minutes of the Meeting of the Library Advisory Board City of Georgetown September 7, 2021 The Library Advisory Board met on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. in Classroom 211 of the Georgetown Public Library, 402 W. 8th Street. MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE: Nosa Asowata, Susan Cooper, Nancy Hill, Michael Kelley, Thom Sinwell and Richard Thielmann. MEMBERS ABSENT: None. STAFF IN ATTENDANCE: Sally Miculek–Library Director, Bethni King-Children’s Services Librarian and Lawren Weiss- Administrative Assistant. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Board Chair Kelley. A. Citizens wishing to address the board. -Michael Kelley, Chair. None were present. No action required. B. Staff introductions and service spotlight. -Sally Miculek, Library Director and Bethni King, Children’s Services Librarian. Miculek introduced King to the Board. King explained that the Library would be hosting its first in person Storytime in September, following all Storytimes going digital since the pandemic began. King has worked for the Georgetown Public Library for 14 and a half years, and originally started as the Teen Librarian before becoming the Children’s Services Librarian about 7 years ago. King discussed upcoming Storytime and program opportunities for children, tweens and teens. No action required. C. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from the August 4, 2021, Library Advisory Board meeting. -Michael Kelley, Board Chair. Board members did not have additional revisions for the August minutes. Motion by Thielmann; second by Sinwell to approve the August 4, 2021, Library Advisory Board minutes as distributed. Approved 6-0. D. Consideration of Library Director's report. -Sally Miculek, Library Director. Miculek reviewed her monthly report with the Board (attached). Topics included digital and streaming services, programs and inventory procedures. Miculek gave updates about the Library’s vacant café space, noting supply chain delays with cabinetry and other renovation supplies. She hopes to have a café opening in late January or early February in 2022. Miculek announced that the proposed Circulation Supervisor position was under review by City leadership and would be continuing through the approval process before being posted open online for applications. No action required. E. Consideration and possible action regarding future meeting dates and times. -Michael Kelley, Board Chair.
