Patron Comments
1. Patron comment: Stop being stupid and learn how to be a great doctor again
Director’s note: We certainly encourage life-long learning here at GPL. Though you can’t become a
doctor simply by using materials in our collections, you can certainly learn about becoming a doctor, and
learn about medicine as a field of study.
2. Patron comment: People were here and now are gone
Page 9 of 11
Director’s note: We’ve lost some cherished friends and loved ones lately, too.
3. Patron comment: Stay connected to all book’s and study’s
Director’s note: The Library has an excellent collection to meet all kinds of interests, and our online
databases offer further research opportunities, particularly for patrons seeking more academic or
technical information.
4. Patron comment: YES!
Director’s note: We agree! Yes! To reading! Yes! To entertainment! Yes! To readily accessible
computers! Yes! To a comfortable space to access all of the above!
5. Patron comment: More Couples Counseling Classes, Groups, & Program
Director’s note: Our program schedule is quite full, and couples counseling is a bit beyond our usual
scope. We are always on the lookout for new ideas. Thank you for this one.
6. Patron comment: Got Complimented. *****5 Stars.
Director’s note: Thanks! We love hearing about our patrons’ celebrations!
7. Patron comment: More Computer & Laptop & Internet Time (front side); More Hours for Learning at
this Library (back side)
Director’s note: We’re always happy to extend a patron’s time on the public use computers. As long
as no one is waiting, please ask a staff member for more time, and we’ll get you set up!
Our open hours are returned to the pre-pandemic schedule. While we’d love to offer more open hours,
staffing constraints and usage keep us to our current schedule.
8. Patron comment: Get Vandalized
Director’s note: No, thank you!
9. Patron comment: The Library should purchase several small shopping carts—they are smaller than
the small carts at HEB. When I lived in Michigan the library had them and they are wonderful for people
such as me, who has to use a cane or a walker. I would come to the Library more if you had these
carts. Thanks—
Director’s note: Thank you for this wonderful idea! We’re looking for good options, and will add a
small set of grocery-style pushcarts to our wishlist for the year!
10. Patron comment: In the “New Fiction Section” on Main Floor—Put the Books Back in Alphabetical
Order by Author.
Director’s note: Our New Books shelves are still a wee bit more crowded than we’d like, so we still see
some items shelved spine-out, and it’s understandable to want those books to be strictly alphabetized by
author. Though these shelves are loosely alphabetized, sometimes display takes priority, and books are a
little less orderly-orderly than we expect in our standing collection shelves. As our circulation continues
to increase, the New Book shelves will become easier to browse.
