I’m the 56 yr old homeless woman that comes in here frequently. I was in the ladys restroom and someone blessed me I don’t know who showed me kindness but I’d like to thank you very much and bless you mam. Response: While we do not ask patrons about their housing status, sometimes they choose to share that information with us, or with other patrons. It’s a privilege to be able to serve in a community that is compassionate and to be able to welcome everyone into the Library. Comment: A sour note on “Sweet Lemon”—Ridiculous Prices—will never order there again! Response: The Little Lemon’s prices are set by the owners of Sweet Lemon, and reflect the cost of ingredients, preparation from scratch, and service by a well-trained and friendly staff. Comment: We would like to suggest a storytime for kids in Spanish. Thanks for all you do! Response: We have been able to offer Spanish-Language storytime at various times. At present, we do not have a Spanish speaker available on staff to provide a weekly storytime program (we have three Spanish speakers on staff; none of them is able to provide a weekly storytime due to other time constraints). This request will be passed along to the Children’s Team, and we will continue to seek and consider opportunities to offer storytime programming to meet a variety of needs and interests. Comment: For Adult programs after Library is closed please have a better system. If only one door is opened put a sign on the other side of the building saying that or put procedure to come in on website for that event. Response: Our standard procedure for Library -sponsored programs after hours is to open one door at both the 9th and 8th street entrances, and to station a staff member in the lobby to direct patrons to their destination as they arrive. 15-30 minutes after the program’s posted start time, that staff member will lock both doors for safety, and will then proceed to the meeting room where the program is being held in order to assist other staff who are presenting. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused a patron; the programming teams will discuss whether we should make changes to this procedure or provide more information for patrons in advance of after-hours programs.
