A T he P arks and R ecreation Advis ory Board has been invited to attend the following workshop and Board
quorum is possible. It will be dis cus s ion only and no formal action will be taken.
T he C ity of G eorgetown invites the c ommunity to attend one of a series of workshops in O ctober that
will help prioritize parks and rec reation fac ilities, programs , and s ervic es as the P arks and R ec reation
Department plans for the future. R S VP s to the works hop are reques ted, bec ause s pace is limited.
T he C ity has engaged the s ervic es of G reenP lay, a nationally renowned parks and recreation management
c onsulting firm, to as s is t in developing a C ost R ec overy P hilos ophy and P olic y bas ed on the
c ommunity’s values for rec reation programs and services.
T he works hops involve s mall-group disc ussions to c ollect the community’s input on how eac h of the
fac ilities, rec reation programs and services benefit the community. P artic ipants in the works hops will
examine the various programs and s ervic es provided by the C ity’s P arks and R ec reation Department and
will provide input on the community benefit vers es individual benefit of eac h program. C ity s taff will use
this input to help develop res ourc e alloc ation and c os t recovery options to present to C ity C ounc il in early
2022.
