(Avalon Monuments; Galaxy Bakery; DIVA) · Schedule date and confirm photographer to make sure photos are posted on city website and FB pages – 10:15 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 (The Escape, La Bella Casa-Ken Horak; Roots Bistro) · Goal 3: Promoting Downtown’s Image as a Signature Destination a) Promote and support downtown as a Cultural District by using the arts as E.D. – Marcy/Julie/Bill · Partner with CVB, HARC and Arts & Culture Boards to visit successful downtowns to gain new ideas: (Denton visit- rescheduled to January 2015) · Meet and plan with SU and GISD Fine Arts programs to promote student involvement and performance in downtown. Dr. Gaffney (SU) Fine Arts students and local bands – (SU student rate $50-75 per hour) – Bob/Jim b) Encourage and promote Georgetown as a University Town – Jim/Marcy · Attend bi-monthly College Town Committee meetings to continue partnerships (Meeting date – January 22) · Publicize special events and marketing opportunities at SU via social media and Block Captain visits (Publicize Ladies Nite Out and Shop Small Spree—pass out flyers; post on social media) (All) · Communicate with downtown businesses regarding special SU event dates and marketing opportunities to be prepared for visitors.
